I like this map. I was looking for some other scrips as well but most of them tend to create more than one continent and put some civs on them. I think we want one big continent where all the civs start (are we allowed to build ships?). This Erebus Continents is also a huge map which sounds perfect to me.
I suggest we use this map. I'd like to alter some of the default settings a bit; reducing mountains, tundra, desert and jungle as the map tends to put quite a lot of those even after reducing the default amount. Anyone have something against this map?
Goals of the game:
- Armageddon!
- Conquest.
- Spawn at least one every planar gate unit. (optional)
Game rules:
- Only allowed to attack our enemies with planar gate units.
- Can build max 2 warriors per city (workers/settlers) unlimited.
- Can build workboats to improve tiles (no scouting). Other ships not allowed.
- Warriors are allowed to attack also (this is mostly for avoiding the death to barbs).
- Captured units can be kept but do not use them for fighting.
- Religion units are allowed as missionaries but not as fighters.
- Building Abashi is allowed.
Settings:- Map: ErebusContinent, EitB v11.
- Difficulty: Emperor
- Game speed: Normal
- No tech trading, Wildlands, Living World, All Unique Features.
- Lairs, Tribal Villages, Orhus and Acheron all are ON.
Also our opponents are:
Bannor, Elohim, Kuriotates, Ljosalfar, Luchuirp, Malakim. In addition to the Good leaders I also added Lanun, Clan and Calabim. That's 9 rivals.
Am I missing something or is this looking good? If you guys agree with the map I can launch the game.

I wasn't able to get the mapscript to work for me (???), but the screenshots I've seen of it look nice; it's fine by me.

I vote we are allowed to build workboats, but only to improve tiles, not for exploring. This is why I'm not an attorney; I miss some details sometimes.
I'm fine with Erebus Continents, and approve of the rest of Aurorarcher's post.

Did you put the ErebusContinet.py to your PublicMaps folder (under Beyoynd the Sword)?
Any preference in playing order? Also we should make a new topic in SG section. Actually, I can do that tomorrow if I'll play the first set.
Are we happy with each playing 20 turns first, then 15, then 10 and then 5?

Yup! Didn't work.

Are we happy with each playing 20 turns first, then 15, then 10 and then 5? You're welcome to start us off. I think the usual deal has first player do 20 turns, 2nd 15, then next several sets (or the rest) are 10 turns each. Just because the first bunch of turns doesn't have much happening. Then we eventually transition to 5 as things get busy.

Go ahead and start. Unlike a PBEM, we can change the rules easily mid-game if we realize something we've forgotten.

Ah, I wasn't as clear as I thought I was. I was suggesting player 1 have turns 0-20, player 2 have 21-35, player 3 36-45, and then ten each from there. That way, the first player can not only build a worker, but actually do something with it . But waiting until T100 to repeat is a bit much.
Edit: or player 3 have 36-50, to get us to round numbers
And eventually we'll drop to 5-turn sets, but let's not plan that in advance, just do it when the turns get long.

Thanks for clarification, Mardoc. Now that makes a lot more sense to me .

I made a new thread here, we should continue the game there.
