How is your plan going?

Any new cities we can see?

2nd city founded. If I would have known copper poisitioning, it would have gone near copper. However I had invested already to road to north and worker naturally was there too so change of plans didn't make sense. Still considering 3rd city, if it goes to claim gold or copper. gold would speed up MC some 6 turns or so. This could be landing GE ~T70 otherwise closer to T80. However my expansion would be much slower.

Standard move of the day: Converted to slavery while moving settler.

Why? Lack of Axes or other reason?

Wet corrn/pig/copper vs sheep/gold.

But he had decided against pig+wet corn before he knew about the copper. Right when he made the plan for the GE. So why does the copper-location change it?

It is exactly what Haram said concerning my 3rd city. 3*6 yield tiles + plains hill is way better expansion wise than what gold cities can offer.

Also settling my 2nd city north was not best choice expansion wise. However it has different merits that I weighted more important than what corn+pigs site could offer (when I didn't know about copper positioning). It has useful tiles that don't need any worker turns, it gives me good foothold in the contested region and has some commerce in the form of furs that I need to speed up MC finishing date.

I've probably made a mistake in Pyramids plan. There are quite a few forests around and someone prioritizing Mathematics+settling stone could pretty easily be building Pyramids already and finish it way sooner than I could. Well I think the mistake is still manageable i.e. this won't cost me too much. Also getting early access to Workshops is good idea since I'm planning to avoid cottages and as earlier considered bulbed Machinery could be very good providing means for early offensive warfare e.g. trebs+x-bows could be pretty hard to handle for my neighbors and it also speeds up my Guilds date.

I'll have Metal Casting about T54 and could then whip Forge on T55 meaning Engineer coming ~T72. If Pyramids land before that I could postpone Great person date. I could also build Library to get a polluted pool and hope to get Engineer with lower odds, but sooner or Scientist for bulbing something else or rushing academy.

Dream of getting Pyramids is still alive. Unless someone finishes it between the turns gonna get it next turn. My position royally sucks, if the worst happens and even if I get it I've gut feeling it really wasn't worth it. In retrospct building Library and taking 10% risk of getting Scientist, but potentially Engineer couple of turns sooner would have been worth it to make it less nerv wrecking wait.

Also you can clearly see the cost of whipping early Forge and running an engineer from the crop yield shot. With some extrapolation I would have been there near Yuri without this endeavour. Of course I would have been in similar spot via building library and running Scientists so this is probably inbuilt feature of being Philosophical.
