[spoilers] Borsche has to be reminded to make a new thread

Borsche was in anarchy this turn. Apparently he just changed civics so I didn't have many decisions to make. I noticed that he has open borders with everyone and had been dragged into a war against taotao by REM, who also appears to be blockading a city with a privateer. So, REM is using Borsche as a means of destroying taotao's trade routes while also causing economic harm by blockading. I tore up the open borders with REM and sent a diplo offer demanding the four resources claimed by the city he is blockading and a 1g indemnity. He can make of this what he will, I'm not really seeking payment. Just sending notice that he needs to move along. Unfortunately, the strongest ship Borsche can build is a caravel (!!!!) while REM has a destroyer guarding his only current port on this inland sea, so really there isn't anything I can do about it. Also, REM will be finishing flight so I can't touch him militarily. I have rifles and cavs.

The larger picture is that REM vs. taotao needs to be allowed to play out. Borsche and other civs really shouldn't factor into this unless their war is protracted and blood. I've removed the asymmetry of having open borders with one contending side and not the other (and have reduced my trade imbalance at the same time). My goal is to be Switzerland, move the turns along, but also not be taken advantage of if I can help it. And if I can punish a mistake here or there by being opportunistic then I will do that too. I don't believe in giving things away if I can help it.

Plako may want to make some noise to keep things interesting but he also has PB35 to sink time into so he may just keep the status quo. I don't know whether this relationship has been strained at all but it doesn't really matter to me. Same for the DZ/England border. As far as I'm concerned this is just about keeping the game moving. If someone wants to start up a war then I don't have a problem with that. It will make the turns more fun.
