[TEAM THREAD] Fenn & Bob are Advanced Warriors

Haha, you updated just as I was about to!

From my turn phase (same turn):

One Mech loaded & on the way to Red, another to follow. I have a decent amount of cash banked, thinking of investing in a Lander to move 2 Infantry to the center island and then potentially start shipping units to fight Red (I'll produce those from my easternmost factory).

Sounds good to me.

I'll actually have enough banked for a Fighter next turn, very tempted to build one.

No ability to transfer funds from one to the other?
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

Unfortunately no. Otherwise I'd be transferring my extra cash to Fenn.

I think I will go for the Fighter build- even though mine attack at a -10% penalty they'll still massacre Battle Copters and seriously damage Bombers, forcing Red to either build their own Fighter or chase me with an otherwise mostly useless Cruiser.

My indirect attack units don't have any penalties, so I'd also like to eventually set some Rockets up in the forests on the center island between Fenn & I.

I am a little worried that my Mech will encounter an enemy B-Copter before I can get at turn of capturing in. I need to figure out where to unload (in FoW if you move onto a tile occupied by an enemy unit you lose all of your movement points and freeze in place). Closest T-Copter is currently hidden in the reef between furthest Red factory & port IIRC.

I'd recommend moving the T-Copter over the base and dropping the Mech onto the forest just to the east. The hypothetical B-Copter will only be able to see the Mech if it's adjacent, and if you can start capturing at 10HP, the base is yours - an Eagle B-Copter only does 60% damage to a Mech on a base, not enough to stop the capture thanks to Sami's 150% capture rate.

Yeah, although there's a chance I unload the Mech right next to a unit in the adjacent forest- I may be mistaken, but I think I'll still be hard to see if I unload on the factory itself (so chopper to the shoal 1N to maximize landing success), and IIRC that gives a better defensive boost. Thoughts?

Yeah, bases have 3 stars compared to the forest's 2 stars. Keep in mind that B-Copters can see 3 tiles away in fog, so if Brick built a B-Copter ASAP and sent it over he'd be able to see your Mech on the base, while there's a chance it wouldn't be adjacent to the forest 1E of the base. If he didn't build a B-Copter then dropping on the base is the safest option. What you want to do depends on how likely it is that Brick built a B-Copter right away.

Good call; looks like he did go for an early B-copter, but he shouldn't be able to see my mech until I can start capturing.

T7 update:

Mech landed in forest, where it should currently be invisible. Between it and the second Mech I can unload next turn, I think I should be good to capture that factory. I'll lock up my own island next turn, and will produce an AA at my far factory to prevent Red from pulling a similar maneuver on me. I'll also speed my new Fighter over to kill the B-Copter. Plan is to use the factory on Red's landmass to produce an endless stream of obnoxious crap to tie him down, leaving him at a funding disadvantage and enabling Fenn to focus on seizing the enemy center island. I'd also like to capture Red's northern port, if possible.
