I think you need to change your screenshot format to .jpg. You can do it in the .ini file.
Also I applaud your Zen approach to SP civ - something I'd never have the willpower for.

Thanks, Old Harry! We'll see if I can finish this!
Turn 15: 3400 BC: THE MOST EVENTFUL TURN OF THE GAME
First worker completed and dispatched to road the cows for lack of anything better to do. AH due in 2 turns. Started a Warrior.
But that's not event the best thing. I popped the hut and:
I am the greatest CIV player ever.
Unfortunately, this doesn't really change much. The cow is a better yield and add the road prevents a waste of worker turns. Right?

Just writing to let everyone know that I finished the road on the cows. And my warrior found some floodplains up north.
In the excitement, my infant daughter hit enter so I accidentally played two turns. I'll be omitting any turns today as a result.
As I've been doing this, I've realized that what makes people really hungry for CIV is reporting. The games are fun but the record is more valuable. So, I'm going to try to keep up that reporting.
And -- as they say -- pictures are worth a thousand words.
EDIT: Hence, the complete lack of pictures.

I finished the pasture on the cows, which accelerates my growth to 2 turns out. Worker moves to the floodplain and starts farming.
I think i finish that farm before I start mining the gems -- I need the food because this is a food-poor start.
Need to start thinking about my next tech choices: any thoughts? Any screenshots that would help?
Truly this is a low food wasteland.

Overview shot? Have you picked out a first expansion spot yet? I take it you're going mining next?

I'll take an overview shot tonight.
I'm about 3 turns out from mining, yes. The agriculture pop was extremely lucky.

If you could stop cropping your screenshots so that we could see more, it would be helpful... it's very hard to follow what you're doing right now.

That would be helpful, wouldn't it... Sorry about that.

Ah, nice hut-popping skills.
I was asking about the first city spot because I'd be thinking now whether I need BW to speed that up or not. If you don't need BW then religion is very tempting as a Spi civ, it's a great method of border popping. Pretty risky but you could keep Judaism as a fall-back option since you probably want organised religion if you do get a religion anyway.

No idea on a second city spot yet. The only spot that might be remotely useful for a second city would be 3 south of Mecca. Gets a wet rice, a dye and a hill, plus shares some tiles with the capital.
Speaking of the capital.
The barren north.
The map to the south.
Build:
Warrior (2T) to Worker (8T)
I'm considering switching to a worker right now at size 2. That'd be 8 turns ... with 2 workers by turn 31. That's better than having an extra warrior -- which i'd get after the worker completes (due to overflow). So, I switched to a worker.
Research:
Mining (2T) to ???
Buddhism is gone but Poly might be a viable alternative -- especially with the gems mine. Right now, it would complete on turn 37. That'll mean I can get the cap up to size 7 and the other cities to size 6. That's not nothing. That feels like it'd be too late against the AI, though.
Pottery vs Broze Working seems like the correct choice. Got another day to get input on that though.
Thanks for the feedback all. This level of careful thought is far beyond my normal civ playing -- and just writing up each turn is having the desired effect.
