Chaos spawn have doom gaze (which just does auto damage.) Its very dangerous. Much like doombats have doom attacks that auto hit.

Offer tribute, cast Aura of Majesty, if they are at war, attack the same player as they do.
Quote:Also what do wizards pacts and alliances actually do?
This should be explained in the wiki or if you right click on the wizard's portrait and the "treaty :" line there.

Ah so there's no way of avoiding that damage at all?
There are about 6 chaos spawn in a node and I've no idea how to tackle them. I can't even use spells.

Ranged attacks tend to work well, but 6 of them might be a bit too much to kill in one go unless you have very amazing ranged units.

They're slow, so if you can use move 3-4 ranged units you cand wither them down as long as you have ammo, then evade until turn 25. Rinse and repeat, as long as you kill at least 1 each time.

Ah I didn't realised killed units in nodes stay killed. I thought they regenerated each turn.
Is there a danger of losing units if you have to leave exhausted at the end of a battle?

No, if the 25 turns are over, units retreat safely.

Withering down nodes//lairs/towers is an important trick to seize early game firmly, ranged units woth high speed or flight can break many mid and late game nodes in the early game, then you snowball the advantage.

(Also a trick I am particularly bad at! I don't have the patience for it.)

Does land size affect the total number of land tiles or how joined together the land is? Or does it do both?
My ideal would be small land size, but less islands and more large continents. Is that possible?
