Banishment rules change needed?

My proposal:
-Banished wizards have a distance modifier of 5X
-Banished wizards have 1/2 skill points (for battle) . If skill reduction across the board, 'spell of return' needs to be cheaper to cast.
-Power used 100% towards mana, which is needed to handle the 5X distance modifier.

I'd like to first test the experimental version. If it doesn't work well enough we can change it later.

Something else, but related :
When a wizard is banished, the same "shattered gem" icon shows up on the Magic screen as when they are eliminated.
On one side, this makes sense, as such wizards cannot participate in diplomacy or be contacted.
On the other hand though, you don't see their existing treaties (which are in effect even when they are banished), and don't see their mana/gold reserves, personality, objective, books, etc.

Are we ok with this or do we want the wizard's portrait to appear as normal, unless they are actually eliminated from the game?

I've always wanted to that information when they are banished. I do not want the same mirror when they are banished as when they are active.

Ideally a banished wizard would have their mirror with the crack pattern from the cracked mirror overlaid onto it.

Alternatively just a very faint almost greyed out version of the normal mirror.

But without a change to differentiate between banished and active, I would rather keep the banished and defeated cracked mirrors the same.

Well, one way to differentiate is to have detect magic active and then you see "Spell of Return" as their spell.
But I'll try to find a way to change the color or something.

Started working on it.
The portraits and the gems are in the same picture, (yes there are 4x14 of them), obviously no grey or cracked version exists.

There is something else though, empty colored gems with no portraits in them which are as far as I know not really used for anything. If I can get those to be displayed, that can be the solution.

So far I managed to make banished wizards appear as normal, right click working for info, but left click disabled for no diplomacy.

Now, I need to figure out how to load the different icon.
