[NO PLAYERS] PB48 Mapmaking and Lurkers

Thanks for bringing this up. I genuinely laughed out loud. Gavagai is awesome at diplo.

Here for the lazy ones:

Gavagai Wrote:Hi! I tried to be polite last time I wrote but it looks like my politeness was at the expense of clarity. Let me try once again: I'll burn to the ground any city you settle to the east of your Copper's city meridian. I hope, it removes any confusion you could possibly have.
Finished:
PBEM 45G, PB 13, PB 18, PB 38 & PB 49

Induct that into the Hall Of Great Diplo Messages asap.

I love the way that Gavagai is clearly aware of what other people think "diplo" means, even goes to the trouble of getting a ded-lurker to help him try it, but in the end just can't.

Did the mod change the calculation where barbs attack cities? Because in base BtS it's 2N+1 cities on the map, where N is the number of non barb civs the game started with.

I always go by this post from long ago:

https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/w...rs.299483/

Which says that 2n+1 is the threshold for entering culture if they can pillage the next turn and 3n+1 is the threshold for entering culture to attack the city itself the next turn.    If that's wrong, then I've been playing it wrong for a long time wink

It’s also amusing to read about the TBW - Gavagai exchange from both perspectives: TBW is totally on board with the Gang of Four and Gav is already putting a target on his head for “being difficult.”

Never knew about the second threshold. Learnt the first afther thinking I had doomed an SGOTM by leaving our only city without a defender.

Sounds like there might be a shake-up in the alliance structure based on the discussions in GKC/thestick's thread. It's too bad the players aren't posting more of their diplo discussions, I want more Gav quotes smile

So, who was expecting that the diplo game would be the one where superdeath would get into a leading position lol ?
