Civilization 5 Announced

I just pre ordered the deluxe edition, I think it'll be worth it. Only a week until Civ V!
I haven't seen the demo yet, but I plan to today. From what everyone here is saying, I shouldn't miss it.

Thanks for the links! I'm about halfway through the second one and enjoying it immensely. Shall we set up an SG for those of us who plan on getting the game next week?

I'd definitely play a SG civ 5 game. Feels a bit wrong that my first game i'd participate in at these forums would be a Civ 5 game, since I've been at these forums since 2006 (though i've been close to starting a few adventures and epics a few times throughout the years), but what can you do

I thought Sulla posted he was going to wait on Civ 5? I agree the honor of the first SG should go to those guys if they are interested.

Call me a shameless fanboy, but does anyone know what hour (EST) my Steam pre-load goes live?

Only problem i'm having is that i'm not 100% sure if i will be able to run the game well or not. My computer is decently new, a year old right now, but i checked systemrequirementslab, and it said my CPU/CPU speed wasn't good enough. All my other specs (RAM, video card, etc) are above recommended level, but the site says my CPU isn't good enough. I asked around on a forum, and they said i should be fine, and the site was wrong, but i'm not convinced yet.

I mean I don't want to shell out 70 bucks or whatever for a game that I will not be able to run very well. And i need to pre-order it because i don't want to miss out on an extra civ. (making the Babylonians only available to a deluxe pre-orders is awful, but there's nothing I can do about that)

Decisions, decisions. How long can you wait before the deluxe pre-order expires? Maybe I could wait until the demo is released, but iirc in the stream last night they said it wouldn't be released until the release day or something, so it would be useless for me if the deluxe edition isn't available anymore then.

You can normaly get away with one slow component on a PC in a game, hell my Pentium 4 has lasted this long without any significant problems in modern games (nothing alittle care in the settings couldnt fix) Just dont expect all the Eye candy to work, and you will get juttery sequances and slower loading times - from what i have seen/ heard slowish loadtimes are present even in higher end systems.

Same situation here - I think that their hardware scanning just doesn't understand some processor speeds. So don't worry too much, but if you do - get the demo, once it's out.
