[SPOILER] Asoka of the Vikings (Nakor & Gaspar)

As Gaspar tried to explain, he is trying to mature the cottages faster and it still took the worker 1t to complete.

Nakor - I'm working uncharacteristically late tonight, so if we're going to hold the turn up, feel free to finish turn w/o me. Otherwise I should be home in approx 6 hours, and will happily micro/end turn.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

WK asked for OB to let his scout through - I saw no reason to disagree so I accepted.

Really, nothing else to be done, as you took care of it all.

luddite completes the Colossus after I hit enter. Logical follow-up to Oracling MC.

I worked the micro for this turn already - I didn't move units, except the galley which revealed nothing interesting. I left the Barracks build in Helluland, since I wasn't sure just how far those hammers were from full decay, certainly I'm not all that interested in a Barracks right now otherwise.

As far as research, I'd definitely do Currency before MC. Extra trade routes will do a lot more for us than forges at this point, as our production is meh, but our tech rate is terrible. Definitely MC after currency though. Then we probably need to start thinking about getting zerkers.

Okay, changed Helluland to an axe for MP purpose.
Had a chat with Plako and he agreed to let us pass through his land to our lands (via brb) and that gave is a view of his capital. We're the only ones who have seen this and should keep this info to ourselves.

Then I hit end-turn.

Another turn. Maths is in, Currency next (only 9t!).

Work a cottage instead of hiring a scientist in Helluland.
Don't know what to do here:

Decide to hire 2 scientist, but feel free to change it.

You can end turn to see if I missed anything.
We need to get 2 settlers soon. 1 will come from Greenland, but the other?
So we can settle Silver and Horses.

Just needed minimal micro. Governor really doesn't like cottages all that much. Fair enough 2F1C isn't all that sexy. I'm ok with the scientists, but we can go back to slavery next turn after the new city gets its border pops, so I don't know that we can maintain them once we get the option to whip again. Crossing and Vinland both just sort of beg to be whipped over and over again. Definitely should have planted Horseland in such a way to share the corn.

As far as the second settler, Crossing is the best place to grow one probably, but then we need a galley to ferry it around. I think we're at the stage of the game where we need to pick a naval production city and start it building regular galleys and work boats when we need them (not to mention triremes once that option comes along.) That area the galleys uncovering looks ripe for a settlement, though I'd like to see how close the area is to Locke. Defensively, if we can plant on that peninsula, it will make Fishfood much safer from naval incursions. Dorestadt is probably the best place to make a naval pump, though its long term potential is limited.

Crossing II as Moai city? That's my instinct, 14 water tiles. Probably best way to do that is whips - whip in granary and TP at max overflow, overflow to Moai. A couple forests we can chop into it as well. Crossing has potential as well, at 13 tiles, though its non-water tiles are strictly better. I don't see any other option, personally.

Crossing II as Maoi city sounds good. We do need more defense there, though.

Not a lot to do this turn. We could work 2 more cottages, but I'd like to have the builds finish (1T) before changing that.
Feel free end turn after you've taken a look.
Don't know if we can swap back to Slavery already.

We can swap back to slavery, as we're only working those scientists in Crossing. We can whip the library in Crossing to get the same effect. After the work boat, we'll want to 2-pop whip a granary at max overflow at Crossing II. After the lib, we'll probably want to build a few units there to reinforce both cities.

So, I, erm, did that. lol Crossing's going to need to avoid the whip after this, however, as it has approximately 150000 years of whip anger now. wink

This way, we'll be able to swap civics and rehire artists in 5T, which is approximately when the next city settles.

Sounds like a good plan! I thought this was what you wanted, but wanted to make sure.

Any thoughts on a long-term strategy yet? (Besides from staying neutral, stay friendly with everyone and build/expand more?)

Okay, changed build in Vinland to a courthouse, Riverland will build a courthouse as well.

Not a lot more to do in my opinion, so you can end turn after you've looked at the micro some more. Tried to do it correct this time...
