I am making a slight change to the rules for this game:
Quote:When a player at war occupies the second half of a turn-timer, that player may declare war at any time during the second half of the turn-timer. The Civ who is declared on then occupies the first half of the turn-timer the following turn. If the Civ who is declared upon has yet to move during the turn of declaration, that Civ can still move their units during the second half of the turn-timer for that one turn only.
This rule change was made to allow a player stuck in the 2nd half of the turn timer to make opportunistic war declarations, and to prevent a civ he declares on from being able to move in response to a DoW made in the first six hours, since the 2nd half player cannot move until the 12 hour mark.
I also want to remind everyone that our rules include the following:
Quote:7) Fair Play: Teams should show good sportsmanship and act in good faith. Play to win, play to survive, and avoid moves that artificially unbalance the game.
This means all attempts should be made to avoid taking advantage of the rules to double move an opponent or to otherwise exploit the rules. I will not look kindly in a dispute on an obvious attempt to manipulate the rules. This community flourishes on values of fair play and sportsmanship, and I expect players here to do their best to abide by that.
I also just want to say, so that players' speculative minds don't run wild, that this change and reminder did not stem from any actions that have taken place in-game so far.
Is this what people have been debating in the Lurker thread?
