This is an unreasonable assertion. As a vanilla villager myself I find it frustrating to hear you so sure of yourself. It's part of why I believed BRick yesterday, the vanilla PM actually says "You have no powers", just like BRick said. He must have been a standard god with no powers.
Incidental vanilla claims are also inherently scummy.

So we're going to torture Mattimeo, and then lynch him regardless of the outcome? Why bother torturing him, then?

I hope the torture makes my role more interesting. I'm just trying to stop the discussion from going into the "obviously everyone has a power and it was stupid for BRick to claim vanilla" corner.

Of course we're not going to lynch him if he doesn't get confirmed as a god. He just doesn't get a full game pass, like with any cop read in a normal game.

Okay Lewwyn, what's your stance on Rowain?
Marcus is not answering our questions to my satisfaction, but he definitely reads town.
Actually, would town have both a doctor and a day cop? That allows a very powerful game of protect the cop.
I have to run.

A full game doesn't last very long. If he's scummy but a suspected godfather, maybe it's better to just lynch him right away?

But more than that, it was the torturer that convinced me. With only 2 mislynches before lylo, it would seem prudent to reveal ones self as a torturer to prevent a mislynch.
So let me explain what's bothering me, Marcus. Your instinct told you to lynch BRick. And that instinct was based on the torturer not preventing a mislynch.
Here's your vote for BRick:
(August 5th, 2015, 23:57)Marcus Aurelius Wrote: Hmm ... this whole torture thing is kind of weird. If I read the initial post correctly it should have given some sort of answer. Therefore the most reasonable explanation is that he has some sort of 'immunity' where, even though the torture really really hurts ... he won't talk. Now, either this is his "power" which, if town, would be a red herring, or if a 'god' might at least give him a chance at avoiding a lynch.
While I'm sure looking at the metagame might be interesting, my instinct at this point would be to simply vote for BrickAstley's lynch.
How could the torturer prevent a mislynch if he hadn't received a result?
And here's the tally prior to your vote:
Tally as of post 144:
Lynch votes
4 votes: novice ( Rowain, Jabbz, BRickAstley, Mattimeo)
2 votes: Mattimeo ( Gazglum, Lewwyn)
2 votes: BRickAstley ( novice, MJW (ya that one))
1 votes: Gazglum ( AdrienIer)

It doesn't seem to me like there's a potential mislynch of BRick happening in the first place.
So this makes your elaboration on your instinct seems like something made up after the fact.
I have to run.

Well my plan was to avoid the topic actually. If you don't mention the godfather problem at all and assume for a day or two that the scanned person isn't scum he'll probably fall into the "confirmed town" category, at least in the scum's minds. Therefore they'll probably night kill him. Even if they don't he might wake up and post better stuff. If after two days he's still alive you have to find the truth but in that time Matt will have time to post some things. I also see where he's coming from because I too had an urge to volunteer for torture on D1.

I don't think AdrienIer has what it takes to lie about keywords (see post #140 in case you don't know what I'm talking about) so he's probably villager. Gods have the power to kill of course but if my theory is right about Serdoa making the roles first and then having gods take over heroes bodies. This would also explain why brick would have access to the vanilla PM because Serdoa would just cut-and-paste that PM. Crap like this and my writing style being unfakeable is why I made the "cannot direct-quote the GM rule". With Brick dead and AdrienIer dead I'll probably vote to lynch mattimeo. I'd probably vote to torture someone else though or no-torture because he seemed eager to get tortured.

Of course, I meant "clear" when talking about AdrienIer at the end and not dead.
