I was taking a look at your posted save, Ravus, and I have a suggestion:
There's a city spot to your west that gets clam, sheep and a mana node. I think I'd place it 1W of the current selected position. It won't be able to share the wheat with the northern city, but with the 1W placement you can place a filler city in the river to work all those grassland tiles that would go unused otherwise.
Just a thought.

I don't remember who made the map for this game, but it's a crazy good map. So much options. There's still a lot of room to expand too.
Suggestion for techs: Sailing. Why? So you can have trade routes through coast. Once the AV shrine is up and you have trade routes with Amelia, Sareln, Mr. Yellow and possibly Mist, AV will spread crazy quick. More spreads = better science and higher AC: win, win scenario.

I'm obviously not well-read enough around here. Can't put a number on a Sulla-esque level :neenernee But i'm going to hazard a guess that I am below that number.

We are having a thanksgiving break so I can't grab the newest save but I think I know where you mean for the West city. The two spots left are basically just filler to round out the empire expanding in that direction. I'm not sure what you mean about unused grassland tiles... I didn't think I was leaving that many unused. Are you taking into account that the barbarian city will flip to me via Rantine in about 8 turns?
I'll do a proper map out of that area in the next update. Got some more free time soon.

It was a bit of a shock initially. This was when everyone was trying to nerf Aristocracy via map editing and I didn't remember agreeing to anything like that. So my initial responses were equivilent to;
"on noes I have to think about tech choices now!"
But it's grown on me. The Size of it allows a lot more leeway in growth and diplomacy. Plus like you say, Expansion for me! So much space unclaimed even in this late era.
Sailing to Trade was something I considered. After Infernals I have a number of options including shutting of teching. But sailing>trade seems nice. (only problem is the useless Writing for Orcs) I do also have whales in Fangorn Port if I ever actually send over a thane to pop the borders. So you've convinced me, sailing after infernals.

Well, thanks . I wasn't directly trying to nerf Aristocracy, just had a Tectonic script proposed and I liked the result.

Well it seems to have worked well. Although I am amused that it is turn 130 and technically nobody has had a war yet. Just numerous threats and border skirmishes.

Armageddon Countdown
The New update bit that will keep track of the AC.
I will do the turn 125-130 update in a day or so, currently starting a new job so less time or energy for it tonight. But for now. The Countdown continues.
TURN 131
23% = 32/134
+5 from pre-AC Countdown Misc
+3 from Octopus Overlords founding
+5 from Ashen Veil founding
+2 from Ashen Veil Cities
+12 from Marked units
+5 from turn 130 Elvish Explorers finding Demonic Tome
The Marked Units are popping out like flies. I don't think the Ashen Veil has spread more then 2 cities yet so i'm unsure where the extra 5 points have come from. Mackoti did seem to get a point decrease recently but I don't think they are related. (he couldn't have lost a city now he has vamps)
Either way the Ac is rising nicely. Perhaps a little too fast as the blight will now hit before we even march on Mackoti. (Hippus took too long with their Great Merchant. They still havn't finished their trade mission with it. ETA for attack is now turn 135-140. So much for rushing and believing everyone would organise.)
Upcoming AC extras include Rosier, Expected in 10-15 turns. The Ashen Veil Shrine expected in 11-12 turn depending on movement. Plus the big one, The Infernals in play in 10-15 turns. Would it be appropriate to warn the upcoming player now or should I hold off untill 2-3 turns? I am assuming the latter.
EDIT: The +5 misc jump happened between my turn 130 and my turn 131. I'm unsure if I can pin it down on anyone. Perhaps the Undercouncil Shrine that i'm expecting Mackoti to found any second now? Now I doubt that has an AC raising ability. May pop open the save to double check things.
EDIT 2: Apparantly Elvish Explorers uncovered a Demonic Tome from the age of Magic... doesn't sound like any event or dungeon exploration I can remember. But anything with the word Demon in pings my AC radar so i'm pretty sure the Elves are to blame for this little jump.

It's an event. Gives research and +AC(read it), or -AC(burn it).

If you want a smooth handover, and a chance to find a replacement if the person has changed their mind(was it Krill?) I'd say warn them early.

Yeah it is Krill, he mentioned he was still unspoilt and waiting in mid October but that is still awhile ago. Plus the teching time is down to 10 turns now. I'll send him a message tonight.

Oh and it turns out Krill is still willing and able to jump into the game in 2 weeks or so
