[SPOILERS] Nakor and Jester..Second time's a charm :)

What's not shown is that Gavagai will have Masonry finished in 1t so the jig is up. He has enough gold to easily reach Construction (and nine cities to whip from). Looks like we'll need to whip more aggressively than planned.

Starting on cat production. smile Shouldn't need to whip here (after the GS is finished I'll work the hammer and commerce tiles) but might possibly 2 pop whip a settler for the island clam site. We would need to get out a galley first of course but Sailing shouldn't take that long.

Same here after finishing the axe. A worker will start on the cottages next turn.

2 pop whip the settler into catapults. The PH mine should be done in 2t.

Our newest city. Granary then nothing but units (mostly cats). A second worker will be here next turn.

Rohan is almost done with its library then will get out a WC and archer for the island clam site. The demos...not worth showing.

Will be a few interesting turns!
Great job, Jester!

Met new players (although Kurumi was a turn or two ago)...

Might as well. Gavagai is keeping an eye on us with chariots. I would cancel open borders but our trade routes are with him (boosted by turns at peace...lol) and are worth 2 gold each. I'll have to cancel right before the first catapult is completed (and we'll at least have Sailing by then). The settler for The Rock's helper city will be whipped T115 (and founded T117). Gavagai is 1t away from Aesthetics and I think he is going to grab the marble site we had marked for Slowcheetah. That should mean we have some leeway on getting the clam island site settled before hostilities resume. Still think our attack won't end well (Gavagai's power is staying ahead of ours) but right now all I am playing for is REVENGE. hammer

We will have a few more hamlets developed in the next few turns. If we would have kept Wall St. (and had those cottages develop) our economy would be doing okay right now. I really wish we had cottaged Redemption at the start of the game. One mistake among many this game. frown

We met Yurimack (we can see his impi in Gavagai's territory) this turn. Our GS arrived as well. An Academy will only give us 12 bpt (at max science) and Alphabet is 483 beakers. It will take ~40t at full science to equal the gain from just bulbing Alphabet. The Rock alone can build research for 13 bpt by itself (better payoff). Also, we can have another GS out in less than 40t if we wanted to (for Wall St. if we can capture it). We're absolutely going to need Currency (several of our opponents already have it). Building research might be the only way we get there.

What do you think Nakor? If we had developed cottages already, an Academy would be an easy choice. I've played the turn already except for using the GS. We can get an Academy if you want, I just don't think it will do us much good right now. I'll finish the turn once I hear back from you.

Let's bulb Alpha. Looks like the best choice by far.

Done. Now for the rest of the turn report. Here is where we "met" Yurimack...

Got to love city visibility. lol Now it gets very interesting...

100% sure now Gavagai used Oracle for Math (since we saw him research IW/Currency/Monarchy). I vaguely recall thinking he might gotten Math from Oracle. Ironically, no one we have contact with has MC. Also, looks like Gavagai is the tech leader. Darn shame we can't use spies. frown Another interesting tidbit is that only Sian, of the players we have met, has Construction.

Sacagawea keeps on exploring...

It would be nice to see if Kurumi has any Keshiks built yet. In a diplo game, I'd definitely try and coordinate an attack with him on Gavagai (us from the north, and him from the south). Oh well, he'll see when we are back at war with Gavagai and maybe if we are lucky, he'll try and take advantage.

Alphabet has already proven more useful than 12 bpt. I've only bulbed Alphabet in SP once or twice but then again I normally would have a cottage capitol (although to be fair, we were planning on moving our capitol to Wall St. rant). Got caught up with the PHI trait a little too much this game. crazyeye Then again, we did choose our leader/civ combo to have fun and not strictly to get the best combo (e.g. FIN paired with whatever).

Gavagai ran the EP slider against us last turn so we lost city visibility. Curious. We really don't need city visibility but might try and get it back the turn right before the war starts. We need to save gold so can't do anything about it now (plus that would definitely tip him off). Possible he has his own plans on war (against us naturally lol) so I'll probably need to start posting the demos again (to have a reference for troop buildup). Speaking of power...

Almost caught up (Gavagai has more pop which adds into the soldier points). He has more territory to defend so we probably have roughly an equal amount of units that can be brought to bear initially. I have another archer 1t from completion in Redemption's build queue as well.

Pretty sure Slowcheetah just got Aesthetics (hope he builds SoZ and not Gavagai). Sanford gets settled next turn. jive

Edit: Almost forgot...Kurumi has a least one Keshik so Gavagai should have to keep at least some defenses down south. I haven't seen any metal units yet (just warriors) which isn't terribly unusual (cheap HR garrison) but does make me wonder if he has copper or not (although a road 1t from completion on improved copper is certainly possible).
