Although it seems a little bit off-topic, I just wanted to note that my Diablo 2 Paladins with the skillset similar to the above were all made of fail.

Dunno why.

My three minor complaints about spectator mode (based on my initial experience).

1) It wants a speed between 0.5x and 1x

2) It wants a shorter "jump back" interval for reviewing team fights (2s ish).

3) Directed camera overrates the excitement of top lane bruisers.

I'm quite impressed by spectator mode overall.

Quick question - it seems obvious to me spectator mode will hurt steamers and the income they derive (assuming watching streams brings in more ad money than it costs in bandwidth...I assume it does but have no real idea). How does it help Riot though? You want to drive people into playing LoL so they buy RP, but what's Riot's incentive to spend resources streaming spectator content?

Because this exact same feature exists in DOTA2, their biggest competitor. [Image: smile.gif]

Speaking of which... needs more replays.

Also, streamers are able to provide a service in the form of commentary. It's often times boring to watch a match for fun. Replays are necessary for training purposes and for after-the-fact casting (plus kill vids). So, I don't think this will hurt the streamers that much.

Speaking of which, Sullla, you need to amp up your excitement levels when doing "live" casting. Your teacher style works well for teaching, but it's not as exciting for live commentary. The HoNCast crew was pretty good at it. The Korean SC commentators are legendary for pumping up the action (AaAAAAGH PLAGUUUU).

I am not so sure about that. I feel Sullla's commentary actually helps the viewers understand what's going on. There is enough commentary like Phreak's: "oh look tons of damage...and there is the gank....wow what a kill....amazing...dat Teemo" (which are things I can see by myself) and frankly those Korean commentators are fun to listen to for 5 minutes but imagine you have to watch a 4 day tournament with that kind of commentary. bang

Sullla can be excited, but if you noticed most casting duos, they usually have one "chill" guy that explains everything and the other that interacts with stuff. Having two "entertainers" can get obnoxious, having two "professors" can be boring.

I agree with Gustaran. There are plenty of loud excitable types out there already to listen to.

Good point! I'll get right on that. Where can I go check out the spellman YouTube channel, and its 10,000 subscribers? [Image: wink.gif]
