I didn't have much time lately, and don't have much time now, so only a quick comment concerning the Stone City. I would settle it directly on the stone resource. This way you connect the stone without building a quarry, will have a 2,2,1 center, and take the grass hill SE of the stone into the fat cross. This way you will have the same production but + 1 food in the city. And it's always better to have +1 hammer in the city centre (which you always work), than +1 hammer in any of the other city tiles.

I was going to put the statues in there and by moving to the stone I lose 4 coast and forest grassland and gain 1 hill for it rest of tiles would be used by other city on the pensula.

good comments and if I wanted to move the other city east and culture fight the 2nd ring against the lins I may do itbut I think I will go with my original plot smile

Nope. You lose 1 coast and gain 1 grass hill. The other water tiles you loose are 2 crappy oceans, and the grassland forest is on another land and it's not truly yours. But this counting does have sense only when both cities reach size 17, and I am afraid it wouldn't happened in this game smile
Both cities on the peninsula will be commerce cities, and it has sense to overlap them to ensure the cottages are worked.

But you are right, if you put Maoi there it doesn't really matter what site you choose.

I hate seeing my thread so far down so I will post a quick update

When the turn rolls I will have 3 settlers out and in route. I have 1 settler 1 tile NE of the Deer/Wheat city sw of the capital. I believe I will send it and its escorting LB directly to pink dot. Should take 6 turns and settle on the 7th.

Settler out of capital will go to the wheet/deer location road will be complete. 2 workers will move on and road to pink dot then start improving it and chopping forests.

Capital has 2 open happy slots so will build some quick missionarys then landsknects.

1 settler is moving to stone site. After bouncing back and forth from my location and Mortis's suggestion I will settle on the stone. Better in short term.

Axe is at 9xp and is moving north to hopefully visit the barb city se of Lins territory. They are holding off taking it due to economy so I may get the last xp there.

I have several new workers working and need to sort out where they are all going. 2 are going to cottage Realestate.

Stock will probably build another settler or two before it gets cottaged. And Lins owe me a settler . Below is one of my dot maps. Pink Dot and Deer/Wheat are going to be settled in next 7 turns. Sheep/Wheat will be next settler from stock probably. Lins Settler will go east of Stone city.

Next settler from stock will be east of Sheep/Wheat city. Will chop workers and settlers as needed to settle all sites as fast as possible.

Builds will be grainary/rathuas probably by chop to keep upkeep down and grow cities fast.

With Resources

Blue has crabs at the arrow

Purple has an extra fur at the arrow

Here is the far east all in red because most are repeats. I will most likely need a city north of the iron double crab site.

These are in addition to the two in the nw on the grass.

Lot of tundra forest. One of these cities is great for National Park.

I like more tightly backed cities especially when there aren't that many food tiles. You could locate your cities so that they share food to grow to reasonable (draftable smile) size faster. I would put a city between red city and your capital that could share wheat with red city. Red city could also be moved to west. I would move "City Loc 2" 1 tile west (levee + fresh water) and plant a city that shares wheat with it or takes crab (in this case original "city Loc 2" is ok) when city 5 is moved north or north-east.

I do plan on a couple filler cities one between red and capital and one on the northern in that gap north of the southern tundra cities on that lake.

Red city is a defensive position to stop invasion from hitting my core and if I move it west I lost the mountains blocking attack locations. Also if moved west I lost the wheat and it will only have deer for food.

City 2 or two site is a canal site allowing ships from the capital to hit the larger ocean. Also moving it w loses some hills I believe. I need to build a fort on a desert tile south of Real Estate also.

City 5 moved N or NE would lose crab and not have enough food to work incesnse.

AFAIK you should not be able to build any boat in the capital, the sea is too small (need to be more than 20 tiles for ship building)

If there's a resource in that lake, then you can build workboats. But for other ships, there's a 20-tile minimum.
