Serdoa has just discovered Animal Husbandry. This might be of little importance, but I guess there's no harm in sharing it.

Iskender

Thanks! Iskender and I chatted too; summary at the end.

Quote:10:00 me: Hey Iskender - do you have a min?
10:01 Telesfor: hey, sure
i accepted NAP extension to T100
me: cool
Telesfor: how's the war going?
me: well
10:02 you have seen the power graphs! wink
I build something, he kills it.
stalemate
we are going to have to start talking!
I managed to re-build barny
10:03 Telesfor: good news
at least he didn't pass it onto an invisible spider
me: yeah - he takes forever to heal back up though without repair-adepts
heh - nope
that was funny
10:04 I prefered the idea of putting the pieces on the griffon and dropping them on a peak near cotton valley
Telesfor: he discovered animal husbandry. i'm afraid he might be researching HBR for mobility
me: he'd have got them back but lol in the meantime!
Telesfor: peak - teehee
me: hmm...
10:05 Thanks for the info
he still has no economy though
what is he planning on doing even if he does win against me?
10:06 Telesfor: his gnp is good, almost on par with Bob's, not counting bals culture
probably marching on
me: but everyone else (except you of coursewink) will be in aristocracy soon...
10:07 Telesfor: doh
there goes my advantage...
me: ha - any units near shades yet?
10:08 Telesfor: nope. just lost one at 96.8%
me: pnas
pants
Oh - you know that barb city that popped up?
I'd like to raze it
10:09 Telesfor: what about it?
no problem
me: if you want to milk it at any point in the meantime you can - although it is going to be a tough cookie...
Telesfor: how soon do you want to raze it?
me: 2 archers and a spider.
umm - need to deal with the sheaim first
10:10 so not too soon
Ideally I would like to use bronze warrior-pults to soften it up
10:11 you could then kill if you have units in the area
for xp
Telesfor: sounds like a good idea
10:13 me: You are good at the old c&d - I'll be impressed if you get my next 3 techs - I have chopped and changed around so much over this war! lol
Telesfor: i'll try smile
10:14 but i haven't got a faintest idea why would bob build the stigmata
instead of ie. academy
10:15 me: unless he is planning on hiking the AC but even then - academy is better for a long time - if not forever...
Telesfor: maybe he's got a deal with serdoa
me: I think he probably got excited about Entropy mana and spilled his beans too early! wink
10:16 Telesfor: i hope that's the case
me: Maybe
Telesfor: so far he's been doing great economywise
me: AC is already over 10 - I'm not too keen on it getting high this early...
10:17 lots of cities
his score is inflated by land points but even so - you and him are top dogs in this game now
Telesfor: his mfg is awesome
me: I'm a little concerned by the clan
Telesfor: the clan is choking sareln
10:18 me: he has had time to get mines up everywhere
but think back to their worldspell
they got a massive spike for what? 2 gobbo archers?
nah - i ran a test and you can still get the sons of the inferno
Telesfor: yes. this is odd
10:19 me: I reckon he has them on an island somewhere
What techs do you have him for? Fishing?
maybe sailng..........
10:20 I don't know whether I should call his bluff and just ask how the Sons are in a chat and see how he reacts! lol
10:21 Telesfor: i'll share something with you, but please keep it secret
he's got Fishing T63 and Sailing T79
me: ok
Telesfor: so far me an sareln know this
10:22 me: well - there you have it
I was convinced he got the Sons ever since my test game ages ago!
Telesfor: sareln will try to see what's cooking once he has magic eyes
10:23 me: A while agao - I forget the turn, the clan was walking a settler towards me
all of a sudden it turned around
and went back south into his borders
10:24 I hought it was strange at the time
Telesfor: 3rd settler?
me: 2nd settler - for 3rd city
H settled on the coast in the end
10:25 Telesfor: in 3-4 turns his land points for 3rd city appear in the score. maybe it'll make possible saying if he founded on the coast
he did?
hm
me: well - I don't know for certain
I would bet my left nut on it
10:26 his capital and 2nd city aren't coastal are they?
Telesfor: nope
me: so why research sailng
if you don't have a coastal city
Telesfor: he had much better options - BW, Construction
archery even
10:27 me: Edu - col
calender
Telesfor: so i bet it's more than one SoI
10:29 me: sons of the inferno are 6k in the power graph...
thats very low...
Telesfor: so more like 3-4 of them
me: looks that way.
10:30 I know he got another gobbo archer over near bob but it got killed by an animal - he told me in a chat

We have a nap until T100 now.
Tredje has Sailing and Fishing and Sareln and Iskender know about it. He also has at least 3 sons... jive (sarcastic....)

My finger points

Dunno how that fits in but hey ho.

Oh my days - the thread is at the bottom! Not counting Serdoa of course who doesn't seem to update. Shame - I'd love to have been able to read through his version of our war and as to why he agreed to peace! I wouldn't have if I were him!

Sareln sent me this:

Sareln Wrote:Hey Squareleg,

I feel like I'm finally stabilizing after the Clan Choke. I caught a
lucky break a few turns back and managed to mob the wolf-rider to
death with some warriors. Tredje has responded by pulling his gobbo
archers and warrior back to the edge of my territory and teching
Sailing instead of Bronze Working or Archery. This implies to me that
he's either got a largish island to settle or wants to ship some
Disciples of Acheron back from wherever Acheron is. How are your own
fortunes faring against Serdoa?

I'm thinking of teching to Cartography in the near future. Would you
be interested in exchanging maps once either of us has it?

-Sareln-

He managed to kill the wolf rider which is good to know. No silly move troops out there for a little while longer now. It also appears that Tredje has backed off. Good news for him!

He also confirms what Iskender has said about the Clan teching Sailing. I wouldn't be surprised if we see the Sons of the Inferno soon... Hopefully they are located on an island that is at least a long way away.

Hmm - Obviously I don't want to give away too much with regard to my dealings with Serdoa but he will know from the graphs that we aren't actually killing one another at the moment; I will respond by saying there has been a lull in the fighting and I am trying to secure peace.

Lastly the map trade.

On one hand I would love to trade maps with him but on the other, I don't want my map falling into the wrong hands. So who has these "wrong" hands? Well lets look at it:

Sareln - I don't mind if he has my map.
Iskender - hmmm... not entirely sure I want him to know my details.
Bob - Don't mind
Tredje - Again - I don't really want the Clan knowing everything.
Serdoa - Well - with a NAP till t200... Who cares? lol

However, If Sareln were to trade maps with Iskender first, then me, perhaps even Bob too...

I'm going to inquire as to his intentions of trading maps and with whom else he has planned to trade.

Oh, I had a brief chat with Serdoa too:

Best Buddies! ;) Wrote:18:21 me: Any idea where this settler is going? It will be done in a couple of turns. I can keep it if you like? wink
18:22 Serdoa: hi sl smile nono, it is fine, we'll find a place for him. I have cleared a spot already and on my way up to the marble-spot because I think there is another den. If not or if I can clear it the settler will go there. If I can't clear it then he will go near my capital on a spot.
18:24 me: Aww! Ok - I don't remember when it completes exactly - I can't check coz I'm still at work
When I gift the city to you we will have to sign peace
What do you want me to call it?
18:26 Serdoa: uummm, THATs a question I had not seen coming. Call it "PZ noob" wink
18:27 me: Ok! smile

The settler will finish when I press end turn next turn. Which is T83. I think that then I really need another mud golem, 3t and then a settler of my own, 6t then maybe another mud golem, then a settler, then a.... you get the picture...

My biggest dilemma in the near future is getting rid of that damn barb city. I can't decide if I'd be better off using bronze warriors or a catapult to weaken the defenders before killing them. I am leaning towards warriors since overall it will cheaper however, I do want a siege workshop and some catapults eventually.

Nah - short term I need as many settlers and mud golems as possible so I can't afford to go the catapult route.

Plako/Jkaen - if you can persuade me otherwise please do.

For reference, SW is 80h and a catapult is 60h = 140h

that is 8.75 warriors....

right now I agree you ned to think short term military wise, hence I agree with warriorpults

I sent this back to Sareln:

Quote:Hi Sareln,

Well done on lasting the choke! The sooner you get a chance to expand, the better for the world in my opinion! With the Sidar expanding like bunnies, someone has to take some land from them! smile

Tredje getting sailing means only one thing to me - the sons are on their way! I guess we will have to deal with that as and when they arrive. Bob has mentioned to me that there is and island to his south so maybe Acheron is off that way somewhere?

Things with the Sheaim trundle on although we seem to have reached an impass. I am in the very early stages of trying to hack out a pace deal but I don't know what will happen. I managed to survive the 10PZ's that he sent in the first place (I lost my mud golem and survived with 1 warrior on 0.1 health at my capital!!!!!) I may have to give in some concessions but I am hopeful of finding peace. We shall see.

As to the map trade - in principle I am very interested. If I trade maps with you, are you going to have traded with anyone else beforehand or do you propose to trade afterwards? I suppose that eventually we will all know the full map but I'd rather not be left in a situation where someone knows my map and I don't know theirs.

There are some clear benefits to a map trade so I'm certainly encouraging you to go for Cartography!

Cheers,
SL

This off to Serdoa:

Quote:Hey Serdoa,

So the settler will finish end of next turn in my capital. Let me know if you want it escorted otherwise I'll just send the settler alone. We could sign peace so that you can stack your units on top of it - I'm not fussed either way.

Happy zombiefeasting!

Cheers,
SL

and had this chat with Tredje:

10:54 Tredje: Hi there!
Still alive? =)

7 minutes

11:01 me: Hanging in there - managed to survive his first wave - in negotiations for peace atm
11:02 Tredje: I see. Who's dictating the terms?
11:03 me: Heis more but it is still early
11:04 Tredje: Would you characterize his demands as reaonable?
11:05 me: It is still too early to say but it sounds like we may find a way to peace that we can both live with.
11:06 I' hopeful that I will still be able to contribute to the game if that is what you are asking! wink
I will take great pleasure in tearing through Sheaim lands should the time arise in the future........
11:07 Tredje: Hehe, let's hope you get your chance to do so
me: So I am just going to come out with it:
How are the Sons? wink
Tredje: What Sons? innocent face
me: heh
11:08 I dind't think that you only got a couple of gobbo archers from your world spell
not after I did a WB test anyway
11:10 Tredje: Maybe we got lots of Archers?
11:12 me: maybe - but I ain't buying it - why else would you esearch what you have?
11:13 I just hope you don't come my way - I've had enough of war! smile
11:16 Tredje: Would you feel safer if we extended our NAP?
me: Much, yes - what are you thinking?
11:17 we currently have t100 right?
11:18 Tredje: Right.
How does T140 sound to you?
11:20 me: On the face of it it sounds good.
ok - yes.
11:21 btw - are you going to be building Rantine any time soon? I have a barb city problem....
11:22 Tredje: Not right away, no
11:23 me: ah ok - I'll maybe have to use some warrior-pults to remove it in the future.
Tredje: Hehe, that's probably the easiest way.
11:24 me: yeah - they are cheap!
11:26 Thanks for the nap, actually - seeing as you have fishing we might be able to trade soon
11:27 I will have 2 silks soon if you have another happy to trade?
11:28 Tredje: We won't have for a little while. But in not too distant a future we should have Dyes/Sugar
Perhaps we can discuss a trade then
me: yeah - that sounds good - I will have 2 corn too.

7 minutes

11:36 Tredje: Ok. we might be interested in such a trade as well. But as I said, it will have to wait a little while.
Orcs are bad cultivators of their land =)
me: np - I can wait. Catch you soon
11:38 Tredje: Yep, see you around.

lol

He has some Sons for sure.

NAP extended to T140 - assuming he is ready to come for me then i'm not sure what I will have in defence.

I have just had a very good idea but I feel it might be too late now to implement it.

Basically I dial up sareln and get him to leak to bob that the clan are coming for him with the sons of the inferno. He should research sailing asap and try and sink them in the water before they get to dry land. U would do the same. Casually drop it in to a chat. Bob could maybe do this is time to save us all the effort of killing the sons. Of course. It depends on if bob has a nap with the clan and I'd he can research sailing in time. Oh and build a galley. Stupid wars made me go off the boil. Should have thought of this earlier! banghead

We are at peace officially to hep move the settler and because its nice. lol

Here is a shot from the most recent turn, expertly adapted of course!

Next tech will be BW for the copper weapons and then it is onto either KotE or Festivals.... Actually... festivals most likely for some markets.

I won't be revolting until I get another couple of settlers out the capital -1 food per farm and the loss of God king hammers would be silly if I'm planning on building expensive settlers.... which I am. Maybe a few turn saving gold before revolting too would be wise to take advantage of the +50% gold bonus on God King.

Things looking up for once!
