Well, the general idea was just to antagonize Sunrise089. I don't mind not settling the sugar at all. But if we won't settle there, it's better to place that southern city 1S or 1SW (loses bananas, but gets rice), so that we can get a source of sugar.
I would also say in general, no matter who you're up against, don't antagonize opponents until you are ready to follow through and really plunge in the knife. Otherwise you are just giving warning of your intentions.

Very true. My reasoning in founding that city was just being annoying. Sunrise probably doesn't have enough to attack me, but there's really no point in going for that city. It's not like it would give me an important resource.
I'll try to stick with proper play, though. I was planning on getting an axe and a skirmisher in a galley and go try and raze a city from Tatan and Co. Again, just to cause some mayhem. Alas, we don't need to do it.

Of course, the actual city would be way better. At least two times better, I might say. I'm confident it wouldn't be unhealthy until size 2.

Don't worry, Ichabod, you can be as sarcastic as you want in here . Pineapples...what will they think of next?
Didn't you read the study, Mardoc? That's some intense mind games going on there. It's all double and triple bluffs...
I guess it's just prejudice against FfH players. They may think what they want, though. in the end, we are the ones slaying dragons. The best they can do is Giant Death Robots... Those are in the game, right?
I have a couple more ideas to make some fun with the tech thread. It's just an effort to paint the game in a bit more bright colours.

A city that isn't unhealthy until size 2?
OMFG!
I think you guys just won the game.

Damn straight.

Nah, ya gotta waste money on Civ 5 if you want that crap.

The big thing we have to discuss in this turn is this, where to settle the new city:
Spot A gets bananas and sugar. It's harder to defend than spot B, but I think Sunrise wouldn't want to attack us in the foreseeable future. This spot also leaves the rice to a western city. Bad thing is that we lose the 2 red X's, due to the placement of Wroth.
Spot B is the safest. It gets bananas, saves one of the red X's, but doesn't get sugar. We'd need a southeastern city to get the sugar, like in the following area:
My screenshot was badly taken, but I'm fairly sure there's a rice tile in the red X. It's close to Sunrise, yes, but it's also separated by a mountain chain, so it's possible to settle it. Would be a long term plan, though, since there's a lot of jungle and it'd require tons of workers.
Spot C leaves the bananas to a eastern city, but gets rice and sugar. The bad part is settling in a forest tile, losing a possible chop for monument, for example. It would save both red X tiles (not that losing them is such a big deal, but they are riverside grassland tiles after all).
What do you guys think?
Here's the western part of that area, with a possible city site:
Chopping the monument is a good idea, in my mind, because all good food tiles need a border pop. With bananas and a cow tile, we have a solid base for this city. I think one more grassland farm + cottages is the way to go here.
The city of Envy is our second best:
The idea is to whip that worker to overflow into the library... This city shows that I'm not a good BTS player. I wanted to use this city to farm a GSci to build an academy at the capital, but I'm having second thoughts about it... Wouldn't it be better to work the cottages + fish + iron and build workers/whatever at size 5?
I already finished turn, would it be possible to change what the city is building before the turn rolls? I recently realized I can whip after ending turn, but can I change production too? Then maybe it's a better idea to grow this city to size 5 while slow building the library (the iron will be connected next turn).
Thoughts?
And the capital city:
That's another city that I'm not sure about what to do. It's working all improved tiles, which is good. Should I whip it, though? I could whip the worker for some nice overflow and than quickly build another worker? Or is it better to keep the city at a high size? I can keep growing here, the whip angry will be gone soon, there's silks coming online soon too and a possible monument. Maybe that's a good idea, than. We aren't in a rush to settle cities, because everything we could settle right now needs a ton of workers.
Bah, I hate slavery... Maybe that's why I like to play FfH...
