Looks like Commodore popped a tech on his turn (logged in, increased 6 points, then decreased 2). So he musta got a tech then whipped.
[SPOILERS] Dazed and scooter play Stalin of Vikings and make a big mess

Dazed, in response to your IM I think what you're asking me is if you should be able to feel OK or have a clear conscience about your plan to not double move and appear to double move Brick. I think you're in the clear. It's his own play schedule that is going to put him at a disadvantage, not anything you're doing. As long as you're playing according to the rules you guys established for this game, I think you're fine. Besides, that was an aggressive city plant, and you know what I think of those!

Thanks, Xenu. I just wanted to make sure i got someone's input who wasn't a player in the game. I felt 95% okay, but was thinking about how much it sucks for Brick to log in and immediately see an axe and a warrior next to his city.
The trickier part is if he double moves us then and somehow gets a unit into the city that required two turns of movement to get there. technically, that'd be against the rules. Scooter, in that scenario, how do you want to respond?
I have no problem with him disadvantaging himself by double-moving. We're not at all going to go out of our way to double-move him, but if he double-moves himself, that's not really our fault.
Now as for if he double-moves US and gets an advantage by breaking the rules... That actually just crossed my mind a bit ago. If he double-moved us by playing two consecutive turns and got himself a significant advantage (like saving the city), I'd probably lean towards complaining. If he double-moved but did so within the "spirit" of the rules, I'd be fine with that, because I know his schedule is not real flexible... But we do have the 2 hour rule for a reason. He's broken it quite a few times, but it's always been inconsequential, so we let it slide. If it had serious consequences, I'm not sure. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm severely biased, but if we are seriously disadvantaged by breaking the ONE rule we have, I'm not crazy about just letting it slide. We'd like to have this discussion now with any opinionated lurkers though because it's better to have this chat now than after it happens. We'd also not like to tip off Brick to our attack though.
The hard part is that there is no way to prove if he does that since we won't be able to see in the fog. Instead, I was thinking that after we move into his territory and declare war (T71), we should post in the tech threat about how we've been fine with the technical double moves up to now, but since we're now at war we're askign brick not to double move and even offer him a brief pause if necessary to make sure he can play the next turn. Thoughts?

Thoughts? See I'd actually like to avoid publicly announcing to everyone that we're in a fight with Brick. Granted, if we do raze the city it won't be hard for everyone to work it out, but in the event it doesn't work somehow, I'd like to avoid the public knowledge of it. My suggestion would be to have this message passed onto him privately. It probably would be best if it got passed onto them by SevenSpirits so there's no question about any illegal communication. But basically, yeah once we've moved in it would be nice if we could have assurances that he'd at least follow the 2 hour rule.
As a non-participant, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt that he won't violate the rule when it matters, since he hasn't done that yet as far as anyone knows (and I haven't read his thread in a while, so I don't know what he's up to, or if he's even posting lately -- haven't checked that either). However, if he DOES violate the double move rule when it adversely affects you, are there pre-established penalties for doing that? Example, the offending unit has to be deleted or is not allowed to move for a turn, or anything like that? I don't remember any of that being discussed in the pre-game thread.

I don't think there's any established rules about the penalties actually.
Technically, brick has been violating the 2 hour rule every turn he plays but we haven't cared because he's not really doing anything to/against us. But I'd say he's been doing that the last dozen or even 20 turns at least.
Yeah...but if he does it now when it does harm you, it looks like your recourse is to drag it into the tech thread. But I'm not the right person to talk about that kind of thing....
