Personally, I'd move North #1 E and #2 NE for food and fresh water, respectively. I guess that one random farmable grassland will help quite a bit with food, but I needed an excuse to still use the pig after moving #2 NE.
![]() (If you plan to grow it big, though, in my experience, you end up wishing for every health you can squeeze out of anything. Parking next to the fresh water is like a free aqueduct.) It really depends what's in the fog up there, though. ![]() Maybe run a warrior around past the metamagic node, since that bear is blocking your route straight towards Domsdale? I think that job calls for an archer - few more hammers, but a bit more resilient. Enough hills that I can stay pretty safe and snug.

What's this? We already had a turn today.
Oh no, its Turn 65 (ominous music) No nothing wrong, really. In the area around Rochirost, the natives were restless. They feared that the encroachment of civilization would conflict with their nomadic lifestyle. (Pic EOT) ![]() The bears did not suicidally attack the demon warriors as expected, instead biding their time, and waiting for another bear and a barbarian warrior unit. We shall fall back and fortify bronzeville, as these barbs are getting smarter. A city overview shot. ![]() Capital has grown. Will work merchant spec (+50% since I'll revolt god king) and finish a settler for Bronzeville. "We love the despot day" - no upkeep that turn? No upkeep in capital, probably save a gold then. Too bad, two turns hence it would have been "love the king" day. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good - Amon Harad switched from 2/1 to 3/0/1 to grow, because gems were roaded this turn. So growth in a turn, monument still finished 1 turn, and education went from 2 to 1 turn, we got that EOT. Revolution & cottages coming up next turn. Need some workers here in 3 turns to plantation& road silk when borders pop. Beingond might need a farm for growth, can kill the roaded forest with the ancient tower. Or, since workers might be short, perhaps a cottage to slow growth....damn food-rich map, cities grow too fast. Glorduin just wants a nice little riverside cottage. All they want. I don't know why, didn't think to ask. Spoilers: [Demographics] ![]() [/Demographics]

3 times in a day!
I guess last one was "The turn strikes back", so here is "Return of the turn" Turn 66 As promised, I finished education. ![]() Immediate revolt to Apprenticeship and God King. Workers moved about, working. Started a cottage near Glorduin, and a farm on the ancient tower between Rochirost and Beingond. Road to bronzeville 2 turns from completion, settler I think 3. Front Southwest: Only 2 units near bronzeville, good. If all 3 had been in range I might be worried I could lose one. ![]() Barb sentry in place: ![]() Demos:

That's an interesting take on unit micromanagement.

I feel like I should note here that the Silk is on a river. That means you don't need to road it until you happen to actually want to run units through there.
Other than that, well, honestly, #2 in everything really doesn't look that bad, given the state of #3 in each thing. Yay for commerce resources coming online! Okay, maybe not being above the average for mfg makes me a little nervous, given the production the Orcs are spraying out. I suspect the answer will have to just be getting ahead in tech. On the other hand... do you want to build up a rainy-day fund as soon as you get into God King? I see you're bouncing around 0 GP these days.
MECHANIC QUESTION: WHAT IS MINUS TO CRIME RATE GOOD FOR?
and to rephrease the question for my dedicated lurkers, should I take 2 slaves or -10 crime rate? I'm leaning slaves, are there any reason whatsoever to take the -10 crime? (My cities are around 30% crime as it is) ... Got a turn midday today, played it, and now the damn thing is back again. Yes, good thing too, my workers are far too busy already. So in fact the hookup would mostly mean that my cities would grow into unimproved tiles. Or specs, which aren't too bad, I guess. But anyway good to not spend 2 turns roading. (May 31st, 2013, 18:07)Ranamar Wrote: On the other hand... do you want to build up a rainy-day fund as soon as you get into God King? Thanks for the post, reminded me to get some gold output after the revolution...I got enough gold to not lose a turn on animal husbandry finishing. +20 gold. And whaddya know, next turn the event "Officer wants to investigate slave ring" event popped up. I paid my (your) 20 gold, and I now expect to be offered 2 slaves or -10 crime rate on the coming turn. And in other news, barbarians are definately approaching. Killed warrior + bear, another warrior and a goblin is incoming. Bronze will be hooked in 3-4 turns, so no worries.

Nevermind, turn came in, and since both whosit and serdoa might be available for a turn I played & sent it on.
Slave event did indeed trigger, 2 slaves or - 10 crime rate. A quick google indicated that crime rate mean little. Less. Anyway I have a great need for workers, so slaves it is. Almost a free worker (more upkeep is the reason for 'almost'). Can even sac them for production down the line. (Does this prod get modified by god king/forge/exp settler bonus btw?) I'll need some more units soon. Luckily they are converging on bronzeville. Which will be founded soon, ehm. I'll have two 90% battles up north. One is do or die kind of thing, other should be fine, I can clear up if I lose. No pics, too drunk for fine hand-eye coordination required to upload those....

Adding production with a unit(slave, great engineer, soldier of kilmorph) will not be affected by production modifiers such as godking. It will be immediately applied to the current build and is not considered a part of that turn's production. Adding production with forest chops or slavery whips is different and will be affected by GK and other modifiers.
