[LURKERS] Setting Up Tents for a Ren Faire

Thanks Staltran, I can't see many pics at work so I was a bit fuzzy on details.

That Power graph that RMOG posted looks vaguely familiar, don't you think? mischief

Well quite a lot of interesting posts in the Khmer thread. It seems all 3 team members have come to same conclusions we have seen with a bird's eye view: skip the SoL, Al may be the target, build up a lot of military to eat whoever Mack attacks. Mack attacking Al may actually propel Khmer into a solid lead?

I love that Mackoti is worried about REM being a run away, while everybody else is very firmly focused on what he is doing.

I wonder if people being blinded by mackoti is going to let one of the others break into a lead without people spotting as quickly

Mackoti has his own specific gravity in these games. And we'll earned considering how often he wins. But you're right that it can cause people to have blinders on to what others are doing too.

I think Mack's conquest will make him troubles. Noone will see any threat except him. So I have serious doubts that the dogpile he is speaking about is ever possible. More likely he gets in the situation we got in PB33. Everybody will be no there by Mack and hidden leader REM will just win.

But I will be happy to see if Mack finds a way how to get away from this trap.

Scooter's Mining Inc plan makes REM's plan for the SoL look downright practical

The counterpoint to that is that the more behind you are the riskier you should be playing to get ahead.

Yup yup, I too felt like his invasion was a mistake because of this. If he had gotten the Kremlin for his efforts and only had to research Demo for cash rushing to use w/ his Fin trait, that would be one thing, but by now he's realized he got himself into the same situation he was forced into in PB31. (and like you had in PB33). His empire will be the biggest but that also means has more to defend, and yet his income, both per-city and total, will be a lot less than the "hidden" leader(s), so he'll keep falling further behind.

I think he needs to try to close out this war as soon as he can. Switch back into slavery ASAP and just whip out a hell of a lot of infra/workers/whatever he needs to consolidate while his huge Cataphract stack still make the other players too fearful of messing with him. Other players have been saying that they're fearful of dogpiling Al because they're afraid Mack will backstab them but IMHO someone helping kill Al faster (especially if they just razed the cities rather than try to hold them) would be a huge blessing for Mack. What does he care if he only gets 7-8 cities out of this war rather than 12? If he's forced to wait 10-15 more turns before he can consolidate he'll never be able to get that stuff, there will be a new crisis to deal with.

For starters, how the hell do the quote tags work in this new format?

Anywho, I disagree Mack should get out of war with Al. If he does, he'll have roughly the same number of cities as Scooter or REM (not sure how many he took) and a WAY worse economy. He needs something working in his favor, even if it's just dead bodies to whip for military.

REM can invade Al and have a killer economy. Mack must take a lot of land to remain a threat.

I still think Scooter needs to move on Mack. Scooter seems pretty disheartened, so maybe he'll roll the dice and go for it. Anything Scooter can take will be magnified by the SoL.

Seems like the game is almost over though, everyone is pretty disheartened. Ah well, has been fun.

You were way ahead of REM before the dual attack; everyone was on the verge of conceding to you. REM really is the obvious favorite in this one IMO, and I think Scooter sees that as well.
