RBP3 [SPOILERS] Hannibal of Byzantium (Bobchillingworth, ManiaMuse & SleepingMoogle)

Well I'm sure Douglas Adams would approve of that...

Let's go with Mania's smile

So we have to now do all our moves in the last 12 hours of the turn, correct? And Maniac should as well? I'm not sure which half Maya are going to use, I thought it was the second, but Exploit seems to be urging them to consider the first.

Hmm, I assumed we'd go for the latter half since that's the part of the turn the Inca's have claimed in their war vs Ruff.

So I moved most of our units around (1st half of the turn- shouldn't matter what we do for at least a few more), but I haven't ended the turn yet. The Normandy found a barb warrior on a jungle tile 1SW of the marked B61 tile on Exploit's map, where the Normandy currently resides. I promoted to shock, and have left the Normandy in place with one movement left; the barb warrior won't have odds to win, but may dent our unit, which would slow down our attack. We could move 1SE to avoid it, but there is a strong possiblity that a barb bear, which was spotted last turn by the Mayan chariot 1NW, 1N of the M60 marker, and which the Mayan chariot no longer has visual contact with, has moved north, and could attack our chariot instead of the warrior if we move, which would be even worse. So I leave it to either of you to decide what to do; I think we may have to do some healing regardless, alas.

We met Mali this turn, I sent out a brief greeting and recieved one back very recently in kind.

As of this writing Maya are still dithering about whether they want to attack in the first or second half of the turn. I would rather they just get it over with now, but it's their call. It seems that India also hasn't decided what they want to do; they've been active in posting all day (I keep the forums open in a seperate tab and briefly check them frequently- I probably show up as always logged in), but haven't moved yet.

We haven't yet received any details about where the bear is located. Unless we do, I would propose fortifying the Chariot and letting the barb warrior attack. With our promotions and him having to cross a river, we should have very good odds. I'd rather not try to go around him and end up next to an angry bear instead.

Chariots don't get defensive bonuses though. Have you simmed the odds?

Okay, I kept the Normandy docked and ended turn.

Still waiting for India or Maya to play- I'm not sure what clock nonsense either of them is playing, I suppose we'll hear about it in the tech thread soon enough. They've both had ample opportunities to move by now.

Edit- The chariot will still have better odds than against the bear though, I think- and like I said, there's a good chance that the bear would be in a position to attack us if we moved. The issue is how much that barb warrior will damage our unit.

Hmm, I thought the attacking across river still applies to Chariots and similar units?

If not, meh.. we'd still have better odds than when against the bear.

What's the plan if Maya get 10% unlucky with their chariot? How many turns later does our chariot arrive?

We can arrive in 3 more turns, although we will need to modify the chariot movement plan due to the jungle tile that the barb warrior is on. We may need to delay, however, based on how badly the warrior hurts us.

Still waiting for India or Maya to move. This is starting to get really silly. If they don't hurry up then the turn will elapse, and India will have time to reinforce.
