Turn 147
To help get some eyes on SleepingMoogle's land, I whipped two more spies to completion this turn. They were both in my commerce cities: Spiny & Bullet Bill. Both cities will grow back quick enough. The spy in Bullet Bill is going to scout around Void Rays, and the one out of Spiny will scout between Proxy Pylon and Sixpool. These guys are going to make up for my lack of sentry units.
The spy I do have in the area is trying to find Moogle's horse archers:
Either the HAs have been luckily avoiding my spy, or they are all in the east about to pounce on slowcheetah. Come on, Moogle. You need to attack in the next few turns. I need to catch a break.
So with all the war stuff, I forgot to tell you what Great Person I flipped:
The same one as everyone else!
Because I've gotten a GS, I'm going to research Paper next. Well, I'm teching HBR right now, but after that we'll grab Paper. HBR will be done by t149. Paper should be around t157, although depending how much I'm at war it may be a turn or two later. Then it will be another 8-10 turns to finish tech Education.
Although, I probably will want to be teching Philosophy after Paper. Because if I get a second Great Scientist on t159 then I'll double bulb Education to completion and build half-price universities. I'll aim to do so on the turn I finish teching Philosophy; that way I have as big a jump on Liberalism as possible. Not sure I'll get it, because we have teams with double my GNP and I'm going to be in the middle of a hot war. But... might as well give it a shot!
Oh yes, the war. Time to show you what I have planned. Behold the army:
20 units right now. I'm going to be depleting garrisons in Thwomp and Bullet Bill to bring it up to 30+ units. I've already taken everything but 2 spears out of Bob-Omb. If SleepingMoogle was giving me any kind of pressure I would have to keep those units nearby, but so far he hasn't been. Because his eye has been elsewhere, I decided to take the long way around to invade:
We'll grab the spear out of Blooper, 2 spears and a CKN out of Thwomp, and 2 spears, 2 CKNs, and a pike out of Bullet Bill. To parlance Starfact again, this is my All-In push on SleepingMoogle.
Then on t150 the army of 30+ along with 5 workers end up on the staging tile (pink square). Three workers will move NE-NE to the flood plains and road it. Then everybody else moves 3NE to the plains hill. That will be t151.
On t152 I take my 2-promo CKNs and start promoting them to Guerrilla 2. So far I've seen a garrison of 1 axe or 1 axe & 1 HA inside of Void Rays. That should easily be enough for 5 CKNs to take care of. Once they take out Void Rays, I will have my last 2 workers make a road on the plains hill, and the culture of Proxy Pylon will not be large enough to keep me from moving units into Void Rays. I'll move a garrison of spears -- 5 or so -- into Void Rays, and then move the 20-some remaining units next to Proxy Pylon. Last I checked the defenses in Proxy were 2 axes, 2 spears, and an archer. I'll also move up with a few more units out of Bob-Omb, as well as workers to help reinforce the route.
That's the answer to the lurker quiz. Sadly we have no winner. Except my army. My army needs to be a winner, if I am going to keep holding onto that slim hope of keeping up with Lord Parkin.
Demos with research set to 70% this turn:
Elsewhere in the world, sunrise is teching Engineering (just started it and is saving gold), Lewwyn grabbed Construction, Team FFH grabbed Machinery, and Yuri finished up Code of Laws. I'm still #1 in beakers (not counting LP since I don't know his total) but Team FFH is going to pass me in the next 10 - 20 turns.
And does LP seriously have 2 narrow land bridges for his only borders? Seriously???
