We just want our throne back Wesnoth SG 2

It occurred to me - this is the slot we wanted to put Jkaen into. Are you able to grab it, Jkaen?

I played right before Mardoc. I don't think that was a swap. As such, you should probably swap me and Jkaen in that page-1 turn list.

I can take it, have we decided what our strategy is for the map yet, are we going to try and take them on the river bank?

You can also try holding the line in the forest

Ok, given it a go.

Here again is the start

Sent our Elven hero to the south to explore the mine, and recruited a bunch of raw elven fighters plus recalled healers and leaders to help them

Then recruited another wave of 3 recruit fighters for the frontline, then a bnhc of ranged damage dealers to act as the kill team.

Popped the mine, expecting I knew what was there, but forgot about difficulty scaling, so there are a few more than I thoguht, hence pladin is heading over to help

This is the wave of our main troop body

Then here is the enemy currently arranged against us. very horse heavy, only really the 1 ranged mob

And here is the save file

Jkaen, looks like a decent first round. smile A few thoughts, however:

- We usually play through to the start of the next turn, rather than leaving the inter-turn for the next player. It is much more fun to load a save and be able to start making moves, rather than having to endure the enemy's attacks. lol

- In this case we may be glad to have the end of turn 3 still, as I think we should spend the rest of our gold on recruiting/recalling before ending turn. We are at -10 gold per turn, so we should spend what we have left rather than let it get wiped out by the negative income.

- I would recommend some more help for Kalenz -- those three fencer/duelist types are dangerous, and 3-vs-1 could cost us our elf lord -- and cause instant defeat as his survival is a scenario objective. yikes Haldiel will be able to help next turn (good choice). I would have Konrad recall our level 2 elf rider in the southernmost keep tile -- the rider is quick and can reach Kalenz to help next round as well. (And will be very useful later for claiming villages and quick strikes.) Have Konrad spend the rest of our gold on whatever seems best, then move himself to help Kalenz as well. This should get four tough units (Kalenz, Haldiel, Konrad, and the level 2 rider) to finish off the fencer/duelist threat. Let's just hope Kalenz can survive the upcoming interturn. yikes

- For the rest of the Princess' force, it is almost all melee-only. We should do what we can to swarm individual units with ranged attackers, while trying not to leave too many opportunites for them to counter-swarm with those heavy melee attacks. We will lose some units, no real way to avoid it. frown But let's make sure losses are from our rookie recruits, and not our promoted and loyal units.

- The exception in the enemy forces is that red mage, which is going to be very dangerous. frown Fortunately it is not as strong for melee (although not as weak as I would like), so we can use elf fighters against it. And maybe Kalenz or Haldiel if they are available by then.
