[Spoiler] Team slowwalk of the Reservoir Cats (Suleiman/Korea, slowcheetah + Catwalk)

Catwalk Wrote:A GA (with MoM) will be worth a lot, but we will have a GP ready for that regardless. Any rules of thumb to go by?

I know there's lots of different ideas on this, and I sure don't have the answer. What are the answers to these 2 questions:

How much is a GA worth in commerce and hammers?
How long do you think the game is going to last?

No idea how long the game will last, I'm guessing a long time. With MoM arriving shortly I don't think it'd have made sense to GA before it, as it would increase the next GA cost while only lasting 4t. We will have a great person ready to launch a GA shortly, so building the academy didn't slow down our GA plans.

Without looking, I'm guestimating that a 4t GA would be worth around 160 hammers, 200 commerce and 120 GPP.

I don't have any actual numbers on this, but I think in terms of timings within the game it was the right decision. It's speeding up our research towards techs which we want before our golden ages such as Calender and Civil Service, and since we are Philosophical we are spitting out great people very quickly so we haven't lost the opportunity to start golden ages and bulb things.

Even if the game ends fast enough that the beakers gained will be less than waiting to use him for a golden age. I think the timing of the academy probably means it was the most fruitful.

Sian declined the offer, stating that he felt we were in violation of the NAP as he considered the specified turn to be inclusive by default. I responded wishing him good luck and said that we concluded (after asking around) that we were justified in attacking.

Any lurkers who think we were not justified in attacking?

Hmm, ok this is what I really didn't want to start. Don't explore with that trireme, use it to protect closer to home. We definitely need to quickly build someone to garrison gold city (and others), but jewlry is particularly vulnerable. We should build a spear and axe for it and pull our galley back to transport them. We should also be prepared to research construction if Sian's power keeps building.

I think we stand to gain (relative to Sian) from a conflict. dazed is not interested in jumping in, and xenu is happy to jump in. I don't think much will happen, but he will end up paying more for it than us.

I think we should get a trireme in TSU as well, will protect us from invasions and seafood pillaging and possibly let us do that to Sian instead.

Trireme from TSU sounds very good. I don't want to escalate the war right now though even by pillaging. An aggressive stalemate with Sian will only push this game towards Dazed, and Sian is pretty good at defending (just ask Commodore)

Best way to end the war is by presenting him with a credible threat. Being able to raze Hannibal, for example, would put us in a very strong position of negotiation. If we can freely pillage his seafood, I think we should do so.

Just had a chat with dazed, he's interested in joining in a 3-way pile on Sian. He could help pressure his other tundra city, which might be sending reinforcements to Hannibal.

RB Duel league Spoiler

In your write up for the duel battles you wrote that Philo was a trait best exploited in peacetime. Why do you want to start a war before the main bulk of it's use?
