I don't like Matt's claim anymore. Is it plausible both thestick and matt are scum? since neither is currently voting for me, I guess not.
I wish I had caught that line from Brick earlier, though, we could use more time to discuss this. I guess Matt will have 72 hours to explain himself better.
I'm sure about my definition of a traditional baner, yes.
I agree that Mattimeo's claimed role is powerful, but I think the claim was plausible, in context. A quick rush of votes against a wolf, and then he immediately claims a role? Seems unlikely. Furthermore, why would a wolf claim that he cannot self-protect? What's going to be his excuse for staying alive? I don't mean to be too categorical here, but overall I am more inclined to believe his claim.
I agree that Mattimeo and thestick are unlikely to both be wolves. So I guess I am also colored by my suspicions against thestick.
Anyway, here is what Brick said:
"That also means that you will not be seeing common roles here, and I can state for a fact that there will be no classic seer, baner, or roleblocker roles, as they are often included in games here."
He doesn't say (here, at least) that there will be no powerful roles, only that those specific roles will be omitted. In terms of unpopular roles, seers are frequently frowned upon, but I have never heard people object to protective roles. So I don't think he would feel obliged to omit all kinds of protective roles.
I believe the stated roles could plausibly be in the game. A cloaker is not necessarily superior to a baner. It also blocks town investigative actions on the target such as the claimed watcher
The case against the stick seems primarily based on accusations of tactical lurking which I am not convinced by, I mean he's been under fire for most of the day and if he's scum who WAS tactically lurking surely he could just have posted "I was busy" or just switch to more active play to drop some heat.

Bigger Wrote:- The roles included will be useful and enjoyable, but will not be the main focus of the game. None of them are very swingy, and while they can definitely be helpful, I do not think that they will be what makes or breaks this game.
Baner is a powerful role, and I don't think the super baner qualifies the above description by BRick.
Going to switch to Bigger, although I would much prefer Mattimeo hanging.
pindicator, a vote on Merovech is absolutely useless at this point.
Thanks Catwalk for pointing out the obvious. I had less than 10 minutes after being convinced thestick's claim wasn't worth hanging him and I don't like the case on bigger either
I was going to say "hang" but I didn't think he was going to. Sorry, should read today and tommorow in that case.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.
1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.
2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.
3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.
4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.
