I would not be surprised if there is a strategic resource over there due to the comparatively fertile Eastern region.
Oh well, we'll really get started up and running once city 2 gets founded and the hunt for metals and neighbors really gets underway.

T38, domestic situation:
I didn't see the wounded lion, moved Richard N (he can move back with the settler next turn), and still didn't see the lion. Revolted to slavery. Promoted Gulliver to Woodsman I (2t to heal, so T40, he'll be mobile).
C&D:
I forgot to check the turnlog last turn. ![smoke smoke](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smoke.gif) . Gandhi founded Hinduism the turn before (he's revolted to it, as Spi). So, this means:
Gandhi of Egypt:
Starting Techs: Agri, Wheel
T14: AH
T22: Myst (I had thought it was Mining. Same cost).
T36: Founded city #2 (nice timing)
T37: Polytheism
So he's got a holy city to pop its borders instantly. Well played, Krill, well played.
Therefore, Huayna discovered BW last turn. Now it makes a lot more sense. Still, it's amazing how slow the early going is for everyone. Gandhi can't even mine tiles (he's the only one who can't). City settling's going fairly quickly, but the early-game tech pace is going to be crawling until Alphabet comes in. Note: the high GNP is probably from India with its 9 total culture from Stonehenge. Once you remove holy city culture, Henge, and creative culture (including ours), we're slightly ahead of the curve on GNP.
2 more cities founded this turn: Pacal, and Zara. Pericles and Ragnar both discovered Bronze Working.
I'm giving up on trying to keep track of land tiles at this point. It's getting increasingly difficult to do so, outside of waiting 20t for land points to come in. Up to 42 warriors out there, 15 of whom are unknown. One of those comes from my error in Gandhi's tech path, and 2 were built this IT, I think.

The turn's rolled.
Gulliver's got 1t to heal.
Doc starts chopping (3t)
Happy needs to move W-NW to Doc.
Richard moves back to the PHF, and Unready moves to London.
Grumpy finishes at EOT.
Animal Husbandry finishes at EOT. Wheel next, followed by Pottery, is the plan unless I hear objections.
If you can play the turn, I'll try to look at the demogs during lunchtime.

T39:
AH comes in next turn, and our Settler is in position to settle. Of course, we'll want to check for horses before settling. Hopefully it's there or close to our settler. Gulliver will be mobile next turn, as well.
SW for Gulliver?
Demogs:
Bismarck settled a city this turn. I am officially impressed with their expansion: Stonehenge + a settler by T39 is very good. Fast Worker + Exp/Ind made that possible, but still. Don't know if they built 1 or 2 workers. Could have been 2, with their rapid chopping. We'll have 3 workers + a settler + 3 built warriors at the end of this turn.
Elizabeth discovered BW. Someone built a warrior. Max GNP fell from 31 to 26: This was probably Bis with their Henge culture. They gained +1 culture, +1 commerce from the city center, for their new city, but lost maintenance (likely -3 gpt). I wonder what else they could've done to fully explain that difference.

Let's hope the turn rolls soon -- I want to know if we have to head for IW to get any kind of decent unit.
Agree on Gulliver SW -- we need to clear that patch of fog west of the peak, just in case there is a strategic resource there.
Wheel next, definitely, and then Pottery. I don't think we can delay our EXP granaries plus cottages any longer, even if we do have to head for IW.

What are we headed to?
I would rather like S-SW so we can see across the pond and then end up on the wooded hill. We can then circle W-NW past the peak and then move towards the south and west.

I don't think S-SW puts us onto a hill, it looks like a flat forest.
SW-SW-NW gets rid of the fog near the GH pigs ASAP.

I also think that S-SW is a flat forest, and not a hill.
What are the rules for view across water? Do you get an extra tile, or is that only after Optics for the +1 view? If there is extra view, S-SW might be worth doing. Taking an extra turn to clear the fog west of the peak will not affect any key decision, unless the second settler is going to finish a lot earlier than I thought.

We'll get extra visibility, but since it's almost certainly a one-tile lake, it'll give us all of 3 extra tiles. The difference of the 1t isn't as much the settler location, as it is moving the escort warrior into position, but S-SW is fine.
