Saved played, report will be a bit later but it was really just a positioning turn. Boats moving into place, units slow building at the moment for the next wave. Definitely need more galleys.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Just curious, did you promote that shipborne Numidian to sentry to take peek at Pedro?

No, I'm an idiot. Played a bit too fast in trying to get the turn done before the Bills game started. After watching what I did watch, I especially wish that I hadn't rushed to get there. Sorry.
The units are all moving to position on the staging tile. Calvin & Hobbes is pretty much a gimmie, he has 1 spear there which we'll just have to run an axe to. Might want to juggle stuff so there's only one unit in the Galley that hits that.
We're going to want to get to Feudalism after Compass I think. Vassalage would do a lot more for us than Bureaucracy with our mediocre capital.
This is getting ahead of ourselves, but as long as everything near us is garrisoned by Quechua, we might want to consider triggering the cooldown with Yuri just to make him think.
We should whip that axe next turn so we can run our 2 axe harass force at his backlines once the war starts.
Here's a look at the graphs, just for the gratuitous look at our power spike.

Got it, played, if you want to pull the trigger then next turn's your chance.
First off, I promoted that one Numidian to sentry, and oh my, what interesting sights we now see. Sian's been preparing pretty intensely in Pedro, and I think we'd need more troops to take it. Walls in Pedro and C&H, but still only one spear there.
Brought more ships in range, now all four can hit either C&H or Pedro next turn. I also started a galley in Revantusk, whip it next turn because we need moar of dem. The three ships in range of Pedro have an axe, a potential shock Numidian, and four potential FI/CI or FII Numidians. The ship in range of only C&H has two axes.
So, potential forks, whipped the Zul'Farrak axe, so next turn the galley there can either hove into range to help out with Pedro or else can go a Viking elsewhere. If the homelands are mirrored, then then we could also take Calvin and Hobbes and then stage inside there to threaten Sian's Zuldazar analog as well as Pedro.
With hitting end of turn, NAP is expired. Let there be lots and lots of blood.

I can't see the screenshot (being at work), so I can't tell if you're being sarcastic about 'need more troops' or not.

Sorry, the seat of my pants feel is that we're looking at bad odds of taking it next turn if we went for it. That's 2 Axes, 2 Spears (one C1), and two Archers (one CG1). Not terrifying, but we'd need to win all battles to take the place, and I'm thinking the Flanking II Numidians should probably hit it instead for safety's sake.

Ah, I see now. Well, he can't be strong everywhere. We've got a mobility advantage and a bigger empire to pull troops from. Is it a reasonable option to just let that garrison sit and focus on softer targets for the time being?
Or...are you confident that we can take it in a couple turns, once we concentrate troops?

Yes.
That's the problem, either we can take it in two turns, or we can bypass it, but not both. Right now I'd be for capturing C&H and forking his Zuldaz analog and Pedro, but we can also definitely take it if we concentrate forces. Our big, angry empire (Sen'Jin needs a market next, fyi, for the happy) and faster ships means that the end of this conflict is never in doubt, but it's a matter of how quickly and cheaply we can end it.
Gasponian input is decidedly needed, although neither one of us has experience in the "short, victorious war".

Well, it really depends on what our aim is. There's definitely too much in Pedro to risk throwing away our whole army at it this next turn.
I think that taking a size 2 city at the cost of a couple of troops is pretty weak fireworks for the first turn of a war we've been building up for so long. But its a good site for staging a future invasion of his home isle. We knew Pedro wasn't going to be a cakewalk - its the obvious flashpoint of an invasion. I'd say send those axes at the backlines to get a view of what's going on over there and then otherwise take C&H and lets see what we can see once we have better vision on him.
