PBEM 64 has a new new newbie in town! DTG is a definite upgrade for Turker in terms of general engagement, alertness, and talent. He's also very very clearly in the “do something...anything” school of fighting. That is yielding its usual accelerated results; he's attacked out and killed my woundeds, but in turn I only had to burn one redlined chuck to counter-kill his stack. Sooner is definitely better; I approve.
Protective jans on a hill in a city suck, so yay. Flug...I just don't know, man. He ceased and desisted with his sabotage and offered this. Crazy man. Accepted; not trusted. Given his taciturn style I'm sure all you watching at home are equally baffled.. His last blow before the LT quit was fomenting unhappiness in the capital...sooo that's sucked. Taj Mahal ain't cheap, and we're working on it with the only bonus being forge. I figured I was just building failgold here, given the capital's status as “marginal” making it the only decent city in the entire barbarian squalorocracy...but ye gads and little monsters, it might actually get itself built. Ridiculous game is ridiculous. Okay, probably not. Yuri, bless 'im, holds out a bit of hope it looks like...he's heading up to Lib Rifling, which is great and all but MilSci ain't that far off (three more techs away, actually). Pinch grenadiers, cuirs, then on to cannon, I'm not worried about it. What is interesting is Yuri getting Nationalism and swapping to Slavery/Organized Religion, so Capital Whip Taj To Prolong The Game is going to happen again. Flugauto: The Silent Empire (nothing new researched for forever because playing with spies). Whatever. Just keep on grinding the slow and painful way up to domination. As you can see, I've spent knights and chucklenaughts like water, but that's fine...new wave of cuirs and muskets are in Turkey and I'm about to claim wines. DTG being who he seems to be, I expect this to go faster than with LT, but much much more bloodily. He'd probably have stopped me earlier but it's just a husk of green that remains. Rest got UNITAI_LOOT_AND_BURN. Nicely barbaric hodgepodge of varries unit types. Yuri's got awesome EP vision on me, so he can see that the capital has five turns remaining on the Taj Mahal. He thus can whip with confidence, this being PBEM, on the turn before I land it. However, I do have a backup plan...maaaybe. Wetbandit's old capital, completely worthless at building anything, nevertheless has a decent bit of food. So it is pretty close to making us (hopefully) a great merchant. Which would be enough for a golden age. So I could then sneakily swap slavery and build the Taj myself... ...lot of moving parts, so it's definitely a maybe. In any case, the Astronomy research shows where my head is right now, need to hunt down the last Turkish islands fast for war weariness reasons. Even if Yurn snags the Taj (spooked by the GM birth), a MoM-boosted golden age will see all the needed techs to completely stop teching for good. Just get Astronomy, Chemistry, MilSci, Steel and Police State/Nationhood/Caste/Mercantilism/Theocracy will allow the needed troop production to just human wave the world.

You starving cretin, the micro gods dictate that that 0/2 Fish tile be sacrificed for a 0/5 town tile!

Yeek. That's a dead city then.

So here's how we did it; actually didn't even have to slip into slavery. Instead, the Saddest Bureaucracy Capital Ever was instantiated:
Also, Theocracy because reasons. Beyond Borders will use the remaining four turns of bonus to work on West Point; SoZ+Theo+barracks+2 settled GG means that the Ring Knockerland will have us pumping out commandos until kingdom come. The next general will probably just go for a military academy there, actually...and as many points as are needed, that'll be soon given the critical troop mass. Massive worker force brought to you by Flugauto Spy Specials. So move 'em out, yo. Only a cat and three chuckles are in this fist of pain heading to Deschuttes, but we've got muskets and cuirs aplenty to capture it. Yuri is watching with interest, but that peak makes the city viably defensive. I also pillaged the iron tile; DTG killed the little tester city with chariots(!) because for some insane reason his forebears neglected horseback riding. This turn he got it, so when he can beg iron from Yuri/Flugauto he'll be able to make knights...but at least one of them won't be able to. Poor ravaged Beerland. Should have done that a bit ago, though, just for the pikes. ...but seriously, dudes. This needs to be over. Like, it needed to be over before, but I'm in a 24t golden age and will effortlessly be able to get four more great people to make it 36 turns. So these demos are only ever going up. And galleons? Here after two more turns.

Enjoy a conquest victory if they don't surrender. Not much else you can do, right? Play on until there's no more playing.
