They currently aren't spending on us. It's around 110 on each of us. We need 200 odd to get visibility, however I would expect them to respond and start spending on us. They have a lot more total points than us so easily could make that move.

You also ok with perhaps throwing a GA to help get it?

It's currently something like 40% eng 45% scientist 15% prophet. I was looking over the number again this morning and with the amount of courthouses/hindu buildings coming online we might not have enough time to flip to pacifism for 5 turns... It is very difficult to judge and factor in the whips, UoS build and other buildings coming online.

I would definitely get behind a shrine, thats a great base amount of gold to work with, with the last AP elections Scooter has had at least 1 random spread to him.

The other thing we need to think about here is long term tech goals. Regardless of the democracy gamble for the SoL, where are we gonna go? Astro I think we can ignore until Scooter gets it. I think that pushing for RP/gunpowder/Rifles is a better idea personally, and then MT for cav.

It has such a huge viable window especially without a russia on the map. I think there is a good chance of getting there before RMOG could get rifles. He is gonna be teched down now loosing those cities, and we are culturally pressing him already (I forgot to say that Durmstrang will flip the 2nd ring tiles this turn). We can avoid fighting him on the water, and given that he has lost cities to mack he is likely to look to get astro and compete for them back... We could have a golden attacking window, in about 20-30 turns. We can stable up ready and whip hard and fast to move on him. Without rifles a lot of the flat cities could fall very fast indeed.

This does compete with the purely economic choice of going for corporation, but I think if we land SoL we will need rifles ASAP to deter interest in us.

I like this idea of picking off RMOG's corpse and his choicest territory after Mackoti has done the hard work of breaking his back. It puts alot of territory on the backline if it succeeds, and it also counters any aggression that Mackoti can place against us.

The only issues (I had this problem in Pbem61) Is that they have an island that we have no access too. It could take us a long time to finish if Mistolin does not try for that other island... If he does get astro it could be a slog trying to get through East Indiamen from a city that would need to come out of revolt before it can build any transporting ships. But there are enough happy sources on the map, and I reckon it will be early enough that there will be limited amounts of units to kill, that WW should not be a too big an issue.
