[spoilers] Gaspar and Commodore welcome you to the islands, mon!

Right on, that's where I was looking too. One interesting thing, if his Zuldazar equivalent is lightishly defended, then we can do the good ole' RL7 blitzkrieg, landing inside the captured city and immediately forking the rest of his mainland with our horses.

If Sian does fall easily, we'll have a veteran army on Rego's border...

Obviously too early to make any specific plans that way, but it's a thought devil

Well, we have a veteran about to obsolete army. The likelihood of getting anything useful out of HAs and Axes after this is quite slim. Rego tells me has 5 XP longbows rolling off the line, though I suspect he's being quite literal as in two of them. wink Barring something going quite well, we probably want to consolidate after this war, however it goes.

Don't have time to play, but a quick check of the save tells us three things:

1. Oddly, Sian has moved the Axes out of Pedro. Its just Spears and Archers now. Probably lose half our army taking it if we try amphibiously, but we could probably do it.

2. He's reinforced C&H with an Axe. But more annoyingly...

3. He has triremes, and has one blocking the access tile to the city center from our staging point.

His scouting appears excellent, since he unreinforced the obvious target the turn after we decided to go for other targets and got a strong boat on the only tile that can save the weaker target we decided to go for. He must have been darting a boat we can't see over to the staging tile or something. Or maybe this is what took 24 hours to play and he's just well-prepared.

Anyway, I think we have to go for Pedro after this but I'll trust whatever you come up with, Commodore. Fortunately we can still outrun triremes even if we can't kill them without heavy lossess. Just a couple techs from Caravels, though, since Compass came in this turn. nod

Okay, I ran half a dozen sims, and they all say "no dice" for taking Pedro amphibiously. They all do, however, say "yay dice" for taking it next turn on land, so I landed and kept just enough stuff in the galleys to punish him if he leaves Zits open instead.

Report to come later, but this turn there was a dismaying lack of blood.

My main question is how we're doing on training the second wave. It's looking to me that we'll need it.

Ah, well, the year 230 AD dawned over the trollish empire, the peaceful orange-clad islanders celebrating their new "compass" technology. New powerful Cothon projects sprang up, ready to usher in a new age of prosperity and trade.

Oh, nope, wait, that was just Zul'Aman, basically the Twilight Zone of the empire. The bulk of the empire is now focused on this.

As I said before, Mr. Simulator tells me that I'd have splattered too many units against the walls if I was attacking amphibiously. So, instead, I landed this mini-stack, who, next time, will take the city of Pedro easily unless Sian either has a ton in those galleys or (as I hope), he empties out Zits there, figuring that that stack is everything we've got.

It is most everything, but I tossed several of Revantusk's archers and chariot into the galleys, one of which in in range of the 'mids city if he leaves it open. I know this also lets Revantusk kind of float in the breeze with just one archer, but if he foolishly hits it, we have a couple Numids (one 5xp) backing it up to retake it, and the denuded Pedro will fall then too.

Gaspar, I like your comment about getting Caravels (which might be decent troop transports, kinda, as Explorers are decent mobile stack defenders this early). I get us to saving gold for now, of course, but I checked how long it'd take to get to Machinery at break-even. Huh. 10 turns.

Now how long again would it take to get a Great Scientist for an optics bulb?

nod

Only other news, Malaka'Jin got an event for free monument, basically.

Now...let's kill some Aztecs. hammer
