React to what exactly?

'2) You pretty clearly ignored the NAP comments. So, direct question. Do you guys want peace to last longer than T175 or no?'

How is this something that takes multiple days to respond to? Calendorn's convenient RL excuse or not, they have had OVER A WEEK to think about this. What do we gain by letting them stall further?

We gain nothing by letting them stall, that's all they want. They want to refuse to answer for as long as possible because they think they can surprise us with an attack on T175. I don't care if they think they have us surprised or not, I don't think it will change their preparations either way -- they'll still be attacking the #1 military power. They're going to send the house no matter what we say or pretend in diplomacy up until the invasion date.

If Caledorn claims to be too busy then tell them to send another diplomat. They should always have time to deal with their most important (read: threatening) rival. They're really feeding us a shit sandwich and I'm tired of not just telling them that.

If we're going to war on T175 anyway (and it sure looks likely from their diplomatic ineptitude so far), let's just break off contact completely. Maybe the Spanish would like to talk to us. Or maybe we can make a better deal with Apolyton than CFC probably has, who knows. Just because we're still in a NAP with CFC only means we can't attack them until it expires. We can plot with anyone and EVERYONE to kill them the moment it expires. It sure seems like that is what they're doing. And if they get wind of it before then, so what? Maybe that's extra motivation for them to renew the NAP! lol (If we have a clause that forbids building a coalition against each other while our NAP is active someone please let me know and I'll retract this last bit...but it's a stupid clause if there is one because it's impossible to enforce -- for all we know CFC has contacted everyone to build a coalition already). I concur with the sentiment that we should start looking at removing potential proponents for likely incoming dogpile instead of primarily focusing on CFC. Doesn't mean we should stop prodding Caledorn, but maybe we could work revising drafts to send to the other teams or something.

Yeah, remember that CFC have the most to gain from attacking us. Sure, they have even more to gain from attacking SpanAP, but that's actually playing to our hands.

I don't think CFC know who we're going to attack in the first place.

And oh boy, one more week before the fireworks start!

I think the Germans might be in league with CFC and may be scouting what we are doing/'forgetting' about the NAP but that's just me.

I don't think CFC are planning to attack us, they just don't want to do us any favours. They have little hope of penetrating our small front, CFC's economy is almost on par with ours, and they have better late game traits. I think they'll go for the spanish.

The Spanish has dyes connected, and CFC are about to unleash a can of whoopass on them.

I say we send a note to the Spanish team about a possible invasion from CFC, and an offer of a trade ivory-for-dyes. Access to war elephants would do a lot to blunt CFC's knights, even if they won't stop them.

Since we're intending on screwing over CFC, can we also send a message over to WPC asking about what they know about the German's techs/tech rate? So we can make a judgement on whether or not they'll be close to Feudalism or Machinery.

Well the smart move is to get someone else to attack us and provide token assistance. They just need us slowed down.
