An interesting beeline for the Luchuirp!

Honor requires the following techs that I don't have.

Writing -> Philosophy -> Ways of the Wise -> Animal Husbandry -> HBR -> Trade -> Honor

Other techs that I consider important at the moment:

Knowledge of the Ether and Archery.

So what to do?

I haven't uploaded my screenshots to Dropbox again so I can't show those, but I completed BW at the end of the turn and also minished the copper mine at Kobe. (2t with a Mud Golem or 1t with 2 - I chose the latter) Interestingly only 1 warrior upgraded to bronze weapons at the end of the turn - the one that was was completed in Valley of the Wind. The other will no doubt upgrade next turn - a wierd mechanic of PBEM.

I flipped some tiles around between Totoro and VotW - now that the trade with Serdoa has gone through I have antra population at VotW to utilise and I needed Totoro to grow.

I dialled up another Mud Golem at Totoro to allow it to grow to size 9 next turn and I will then switch to a settler.

VotW completed a warrior eot and I don't know what to build next... maybe a carnival for another smile or perhaps just more warriorpults. I'd quite like to get rid of the Barb city to my west sometime soon so that I can settle another city nearby.

So tech-wise... Maybe Writing next (I reserve the right to change my mind last minute and swap to Archery...) - If I am planning on teching all the way up to Honor then having Libraries in place sooner rather than later would be a good thing.

Great Engineer due in 2t on hitting end turn - hmmm.... great library? I might not have a bad shot at it without rushing it so probably just settle still.

Potentially Ratha's are going to be useful too but they are expensive. Still as a 6/4 (copper weapons) move 3 unit that can cast blinding light they are exactly what I am looking for. They cost 180*0.67 = 121h compared to 120*0.67 = 81h for a regular chariot.

Question for the lurkers: (Great way of getting posts this!)

I haven't ever run Empyrean in SP.......

Can I build normal chariots as well as Ratha or do they act as a replacement?

The game checks for metals:
1) at the start of turn
2) when a unit enters a city
3) when a unit is created or upgraded

You can build both.

You can build both.

Sure enough I got the rest of the upgrades at the start of the next turn.

It is good to know that I could potentially build both chariots and Rathas. My back of a fag packet idea revolves around moving in and blinding the Sons (can be resisted and so will probably need 2-3 Rathas to be safe) Then I can use flanking chariots (that cost less) to attack the stack while slower troops move up also. Once they are immobilised I should be able to keep them immobilised for quite a long time - long enough to then smack the Sons upside the face.

The key will be if he decides to stack the sons or split them up. I'd rather he stacks them and I have a feeling he will.

Turn 95

First thing:

We have officially entered the Bronze Age!

Last turn Totoro had grown up to its new happy cap of 9 and was completing another MG. It was only a few hammers short. I need to chain irrigation over to Kobe and so my MG's that had just mined the copper moved and chopped (2t chops or 1t with 2MG's) one of the smoking forests into the MG at Totoro. This completed the MG at the end of the turn taking me up to 4.

I also decided to have a quick poke into Ultigar to see if any warriors were likely to be on their way out:

Just the 1 there at the moment - Barny is equipped with bronze weapons now so can take on str3 warriors with ease. If any wander out he will be the first in line to milk some xp.

I also dialled up Archery. It pains me to see all those plains forests being worked without lumbermills on them. I want to get started on those lumbermills soon too as I will be swapping out of god king in ~10t and losing the +50% hammers.

Totoro was showing 2t until its next GP and with the chop hammers coming in, I could afford to not work 1 of the plains forests - I hired a scientist to get a GP this turn.

Odds were 91% GE and 9% GS.... I would be happy with either:

jive Engineer baby!

Note a GP has been born in a distant land... I wonder who that was?

Bob recently had a GS for the AV holy shrine so I doubt it was him. Sareln - lol Clan - maybe - I guess - but why? Serdoa - again, maybe - dunno why a GP though? Surely a GS would be of more use??

That leaves Iskender - Songs of Autumn going to be built anytime soon? rolleye

Turn 96

My heart skipped a beat when I got this:

I didn't have 50g to get the prophet even had I been evil or the event been the good one...

GE settled:

Barny gets his bronze weapons and I send out a call for bored dwarf's to congregate in Valley of the Wind. Their mission? Get Barny some xp and get some loot gold from burning barb cities!

Turn 97

No pictures - move units.

Turn 98

I move my 1st warrior in to take a peek into Stratus:

Lotsa xp! wink hopefully Barny will stay healthy enough to milk plenty. Everyone else moves up in anticipation of causing some havoc.

NOTE TO SELF: Barb packs of warriors likely to be moving out soon - there are 3 in Stratus at the moment and when they get to 4, they will embark on a mission of pain in the arse. I will continue to build some more warrior and maybe even a Wood Golem to help mitigate their terror. I want to get some high xp warriors to upgrade in the future.

Oh - and we have a small fire to deal with:

Please be careful! lol

Actually - the last pic shows what my MG's are up to - cottage at Valley of the Wind - mine at Kobe and road towards new city!

If you are lumbermilling your forests you could ask for a Way of the Leaves religion spread from Sandalphon? You may as well attempt to try and get Ancient Lumbermills if you won't have another religion untill Empryeam

Or at the least just a road to Sandalphon and hope for the God of RNG to shine upon you.

Finally congratulations on coming up with a plan to deal with the Sons of Inferno! The Blinding thing could actually work. I know when i played Amurites/Vampires I hated anyone in Empryean religion with a firey passion for negating my spell casting.

Hey Ravus,

Iskender and I are going to be opening borders once the trade link is up - a road will be built - rather than give him something for a FoL spread I am going to see what happens first. I do have a deal with him to bloom some tiles in exchange for razing Ultigar.

With regard to Empyrean - here's hoping! I need horse of course for my plan to work - oh wait - the clan are going to trade it to me! wink See our settling deal from way back when! lol
