I swapped religions back to Conf as most of my cities now have that (2 missing). I will also be swapping techs to Caste System and Pacifism next turn to crank up my GP points.
Dreylin and I chatted after we saw sooooo move onto Gunpowder - we are going to take a run at Steel for our liberalism free tech with Nationalism as a fall back. This well mean I tech Gunpowder, Dreylin techs machinery, he steels Engineer and then techs Chemistry opening up Steel. He might need a little gold to push this through but I can provide that.
After Gunpowder, I will be dropping back to Drama and then reconsidering my tech situation.

Civic swap to Caste System and Pacifism. I dialed up some scientists at DV (GP in [8]), started the Palace in LQ (9). LQ is already pulling in more commerce than my current capital. I am going to swap my capital over to a hammer city - military / wonder / settler / worker / conf missionary source.
My power at the start of this turn was 182. At the end of the turn it is 203 (+1 mace, +1 cat, +1 horse archer) - 7 turns until sooooo and my NAP fully expires. I am feeling better about my ability to build military now that I have my HE city up and running.

oh - and in other news, an AP option came up (stop trading with the infidels) with the vote being to stop trading with mh or athlete. Well, I had just traded Dyes for Rice with Athlete and so I decided to put the 'stop trading with mh' vote to the test. It is sure to pass as it only needs 79 votes to pass and I have 82 :D.

Another 21 pt increase in my power ... 224 v sooooo's 236. Found another of sooooo's settlers (and he has 3 in production). Guess he must like his land a little bit to still be building settlers.
It seems the AP election got canceled because I had too many votes. Gee - if I don't swap and Dreylin and I team up, it would have passed. And sooooo got a 75% (or there abouts) Great Scientist.

After turn end, another 17 pt increase (1 crossbow and 2 cats) in my power ... 239 v sooooo's 237. Feeling better now. If only I had finished researching Eng, I could move these new troops to the front quicker. I'll move my current capital onto producing a couple of settlers and settle 2 of my remaining 4 city locations.
Well, the AP resolution passed. Guess it shows the results at the end of the turn of the last person to vote (sooooo in this case). It means that people that have Conf (me, Dreylin and sooooo) have stopped trading with mostly harmless (basically closed borders and canceled trade deals). I am not sure how much impact this will have in MP games - guess I'll see if sooooo and mh can open borders next turn.
Talked to Dreylin about our Liberalism tech ... we are trying to reach for Steel but I'm not sure that the other team will let us.
Here is an overview of my Empire ... 4 city sites labeled with 'C's (1 NE of the capital and 3 in the deep South). Note the tile labeled 'Barracks' - this will be where I stick the bulk of my forces to act as zone defense on the basis that sooooo can target two sites (DV and BH).
FF - troops, workers and settlers
LQ - new capital, mixture of hammers and towns
BH - troops, troops and more troops (will slip in courthouse but not until after T100)
DV - food, food, food (Globe going here)
QC - troops
BS - tech
TN - troops
7 cities, 3.5 on troops. The city in the North will be a troops city, the 3 in the South will probably be Tech - will have to see.
