No, it's all good.

OK, cool - save sent on. Good to get things moving again.

Pegasus is definitely top in soldier points. His city growth took him from 29k to 30k. Whipping dropped us from 20k to 19k, which is the same as Ruff. The rival average increased by 250, which is explainable by the Pegasus increase. Rival total is now at 86k, of which 30k is Pegasus, 19k is Ruff, 15k is ad hoc (no BW)? That leaves 22k for TT. Unless I have TT and ad hoc mixed up.

Population-wise, everyone's capital is size 3, except for ours which is size 2. In addition, Pegasus has his second city of course, still at size 1.

Just thought I would quickly check what Pegasus is building, since Ruff is presumably checking if anyone can build or is building the Great Wall. OK, here is the formula from the first page:

TheirEP = Their Espionage Point count against us
SabotageCost = Cost shown for the Sabotage Production mission
InvestigateCost = Cost shown for the Investigate City mission

Hammers = (SabotageCost * (TheirEP + 100)) / (3 * InvestigateCost)

Pegasus has yet to put any EPs against us. Sabotage Production cost is 138 and Investigate City cost is 256. (Incidentally, after the end of the turn we were on 40 EPs - only 9 more turns unanswered and we can see his research... lol).

That gives 18 hammers, give or take.

I think I'll shelve the C&D tech tracing, it's taking too much time.

Latest tech discoveries:
EOT35: Pegasus discovered a tech and got a 3k power increase. 1k was from population, and I'm not sure about the other 2k. He doesn't have any 2k techs left to research so I'll have to guess he discovered Pottery and built a warrior. I guess it could have been masonry, I would need to check GNP numbers to figure that out.

EOT35: Ruff discovered The Wheel.

EOT36: TT discovered a tech and got no power increase, so probably Pottery, again, it could be Masonry.

I guess we need to send something like this to Ruff:
"We've unfortunately lost track of tech paths at this point. Pegasus discovered a tech EOT35 and TT EOT36, our best guess in both cases is Pottery, although Masonry is a possibility. We're spending our EPs on Pegasus and he's not reciprocating, so we'll have research visibility in ~10 turns. Suggest you spend your EPs on Ad Hoc."

Another question is what Pegasus has 18 hammers into. Maybe he's hooked up copper and is building an axeman. Other options are granary, barracks, worker, settler.
I have to run.

Don't blame you. We've been pretty attentive to so far - that doesn't have to continue to quite the same degree, although it is addictive.

I guess if Pegasus built a warrior and has copper hooked up he could have 18 hammers 2 turns later, especially if there is any overflow.

Hmm, that does sound unlikely though. It could be something he's been putting hammers into earlier, while growing, before he whipped the settler and built his second worker. In which case it must be a barracks.

Dammit, the save came in just after I had gone to bed. Luckily (for the progress of the game anyway, not necessarily my wellbeing), I cannot sleep. So I've got it!

Some brief chat with Pegasus about the location of Seven - not worth repeating, apart from to say that Pegasus mentioned that a barb bear has disappeared into the fog. Given this knowledge, it felt prudent to continue to heal in place.

Nothing from Ruff so I sent the message you crafted. I also checked the number of hammers in Stamford Bridge. The Investigate City cost is unchanged at 256, while the Sabotage Production cost has increased to 192. This means that hammers have increased from 18 to 25. I let Ruff know this.

I followed the microplan again, finally moving the settler to the roaded forested hill. Incidentally, the game suggeted two blue circle city sites. One was the east side of the floodplains dot we discussed, the other was two south of the Big Slick site (where we will found our city next turn).

Pocket Bullets now building an axeman (makes me feel better) and working the wheat and rice. The borders also expanded last turn. Meditation due in 6 turns. (Incidentally, we have 42 beakers in it at the start of the turn, compared to 34 in the microplan, so some shared knowledge bonuses?)

Here are the T38 demographics with those tiles worked:

In terms of point scores, Ruff got his third ring land bonus, and ad hoc discovered a tech (in 8 turns).

Rival solder point average up 2,000, so total up 8,000. I reckon that is ad hoc discovering Bronze Working (especially since that's what you have on the C&D spreadsheet...).

No change in MFG, but crop yield has increased from 10 to 14 for the lowest placed rival. Big drop in GNP for the top rival too. That suggests that ad hoc might have switched from working two towns and one of the farms, to the copper town and both farms.

Now debating whether to try to get more sleep. Seems pointless since I normally get up in about 30-60 minutes anyway.

Good job, Spaceman.

Good to know. That means he isn't building a settler or a worker. 7 hammers also means he's working mined copper now. So he's building an Axeman, a barracks or a granary.

Yup, both from Masonry and Meditation. It's good that we're ahead of the sandbox, we might fall behind later due to unexpected maintenance costs.

Here, the sandbox is in sync with the game. smile I got the same suggestions in the sandbox.

Yeah, Ad Hoc definitely got BW this turn. The reason he's only just now working two farms is probably that his second farm completed this turn, he's only had his worker for ~11 turns.

I just wanted to pop in and thank you guys for your excellent, detailed reports and discussions. And also for doing the C&D, since that seems to be the only way for us lurkers to have any idea what the other players are doing lol
