Good post, appreciate hearing your detailed thoughts. I am indeed a de facto dedlurker.
I think the objective has to be to burn the MoM city. If you take that away, you're still behind but you've got an outside shot. The eastern approach certainly seems superior as a means of getting there, not least because its the less obvious route and hence, he might not think about defending it. The southern approach has the benefit that if you can get through it, that horse tile is a fork between Maple Sugar and whatever that city on the southern coast is called. Wherever you go, I'd have a reserve force ready to hit the other spot if its at all possible. Given that we don't know if he's an experienced defender, asking the most possible questions is the best path.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Since PB52 is down, here is a screenshot from t150 with Sugar Cookie superimposed on top. Harney is now foam and under enemy hands.
It looks like whichever way we go, we'll still have 6 tiles to go after the first city falls before we get to the MoM city. Going through Foam means we eliminate the catapults. Going through Sugar Cookie means we also have the option of going east and trying to burn core cities as well.
I have made one decision, however.

Emberverse series is really well written, by the way. Kind of crazy pagan mythological background that will put one in mind of Glorantha/Runequest (King of Dragon Pass) more than anything else, but if you accept the baseline, it's fun post-apocalyptic fiction.

Thanks for the pic. WTF is his naming scheme? People make this shit too hard. Unfortunate that he's the one dude you don't have well scouted.
Its a tough call, and obviously we don't have perfect information and also as obviously, we have some time before we have to decide, but quick pros and cons on each...
Foam
Pros: - Chance to hit his cats.
- Obvious progression to fork Maple Sugar/Splitting Wood and then next stop either way is Evaporator.
- Further out from his core so will take longer to reinforce
Cons: - Super obvious point to attack at so he's likely to expect it
- If you don't get to burn Evaporator, then you've probably not impacted him nearly enough.
- He's already well defended down there
Sugar Cookies
Pros: - Less obvious place to hit so more likely to catch him underprepared
- Provides an entry way to his core so you can threaten multiple pain points
Cons: - It avoids his main defending force so he'll be able to regroup them, probably at Evaporator
- Closer to his core, so easier to reinforce.
Gut feeling is hitting Foam is the way to go but its a close call.

I'm leaning towards Foam as well. But then I thought about a third option: hit both.

Yeah dude that’s what I’d do.

Also how much navy does he have? How feasible is a bunch of galleys feinting?
