I'll throw in a hint, or rather, the background for how I came up with this one. Not necessarily because it's so hard, just to spice it up a little.

I was sitting at the computer with my daughter, co-authoring a story about her doll. We were taking turns to write every other sentence. While it was my turn to type, she pointed at the screen and spelled out this word.

Is it
Latitude

Correct. Explanation:
That French = l' (I guess The French would have been better)
mindset; some call it = atitude (sounds like attitude)
freedom = latitude

(And on my laptop it says DELL Latitude, as my daughter pointed out.)

This past weekend I participated in the most recent Microsoft Puzzle Hunt. (Our team of 12 placed fourth. smile)

They've posted the puzzles online. These are fairly hard to solve alone, but some might be fun to look at. Here's the directory:

I'll also point out a few - here's a cryptic crossword with a twist (note that american cryptics have a slightly different style):

Another cute wordplay puzzle, probably easier:

And a really cool/fun puzzle that's a program you have to run (Link is to a .exe which needs the .NET runtime. I promise it's safe):

Man those puzzle hunts are crazy. I consider myself a pretty intelligent guy but some of those I'm just totally lost (like don't even know where to start) and then when I spy the answer, I think "How could anybody possibly solve this?!?!!?"

I did take a stab at Chicago Logic Square

http://www.seattlepuzzling.com/ph14/chic...Square.pdf

And managed to get that one, which was nice. Thanks for the links Seven!

Thanks for those links, SevenSpirits. Looks like there are some fun puzzles there. I'm looking at the PaceCar puzzle now, and I think I'm off to a good start.

I've solved the Take That crossword to arrive at a phrase:

She puckers, gut of Rick is serious.

Is there more to it?

The answers are linked in the first link that Seven shared, and yes, there is more. Each puzzle (generally) has a one or two word answer.

I looked at the one for the cryptic, since clearly I would not be able to solve it and yes, there is more than what you posted
