I would be cautious at this point. Let's secure the area and then push forward. A city with 40% defense and good warning is going to be much harder to crack than any other city.
If we can disconnect his copper and he hasn't teched Archery we are Golden. The north force will need to make sure his horses stay unhooked.
How's this for public Diplo:
Quote:Sian,
If you're going to plant aggressive cities to steal strategic resources, you really should put more than 1 warrior in them. Thanks for the Toga.

questions for next turn:
1) We have a promo for our chariot - I assume C1.
2) I didn't notice, but Geometry gets unhappy. I'm thinking we leave the chariot that was in Algebra as an MP. Work for you?
Anything else depends on his response.
I do agree that we have to be cautious, but I would like to put a couple of axes and chariots into his land to see how he's defending Chiton. Probably a holkan, too, in case he's hooked up horses.

C1 or F1. Probably F1 with the hopes of getting it to sentry I eventually. As long as we hold what we've taken we're going to be way ahead of him since both cities will apply culture to the flood plains and after the first border pop we'll be able to take that first ring. A couple of Holkans in the city with walls and he won't be able to take it without slow movers.
We built a big army. We should use it now. We may need to keep units back as well to watch the flank w/ our other neighbor though. Don't want him getting too antsy.

And we took his city. Amazingly, he has no units really anywhere near it - a worker is roading.
May I offer a critique for unit positioning?
We really wanted the Holkan at least to be on the tile 1S. That way if he finishes a road and pushes a bunch of chariots through, we can move the units on the Toga hill with a bit of worker roading. Hopefully it won't be an issue, but we really do need to have our movements down tight.

yeah - I noticed that. I also realized that I should have moved a 3rd worker over, to fast road the FP south. I think we are ok, but the unit positioning really wasn't very good.
heck, a couple of spears could, conceivably, move next to toga next turn if they are on his wheat or his copper.

If they do, we'll wear the lump and send the slow movers in. We can probably afford to go toe-to-toe with him. His best move if he retakes is to burn the city, but that'll be tough to do.

actually, if he does move 2 spears in, I think we can hold it by moving 2 chariots in. we lose the chariots, but then kill the spears for a net gain, anyway.
But I don't think he has 2 spears to move in. a spear or an axe, yes. I think we caught him with his pants down, as it were.
But it was still a bad move on my part...

But now it's done. Let's learn from it and see how Sian responds. I'm afraid the turns are going to take a bit longer to play now...

yah, probably.
I wonder if Sian has IW. He might not be teching as fast as we are, cause he's put a lot of hammers in wonders, not settlers and libraries.
