What game was that PB game scooter posted about where you had -27 GNP?
Also, for what it's worth, I'm finding your posts very entertaining to read Pindi, especially the map complaints.

That was from PB8, where scooter, NobleHelium, and I teamed up to screw up the first half of the game in just about as many possible ways as there is to do so, and then completely made up for it in the 2nd half of the game by taking all our units, putting them on boats, and sending them to attack the neighbor on an island that we hadn't even met yet. Probably the most fun I've ever had playing civ. The -27 GNP happened at the beginning of the conquest where we were down to one last city on our mainland, and a handful of conquered cities that were all in revolt. Unit expenses man, they were killer.

Thanks, good to know that my complaints are as entertaining as they are cathartic
I suppose I could actually say what happened this turn.
We found REM's lands:
I offered him open borders; if he accepts that could be a huge windfall for us. Right now I'm only getting 3c routes off of 2metra's cities, and for some reason only 6 routes in total. If REM can fill up my routes then that would be up to an additional 20c overall.
Landed the chariot at 2metra
Are we going to be able to knock out his strategic resources right away?

Wait, are those his only two strategic resources currently hooked up? That would make this invasion hilariously easy.

It's nice to have bad map design work out in our favor for once.

Turn 110
Because 2 gold mines just weren't enough
Got greedy on my scouting and now I'm going to have to backtrack to defog the coast. This is a big take-away for me from these non-map-trading games: scouting trade routes to your neighbors is a higher priority than I've given it in this game. And I'm trying to find a route to Commodore here in order to fill out the rest of my trade routes.
REM did accept open borders, and I gained 12 commerce in my cities from his routes. (Break even is now at 20%!) A nice number, but I still have 5 routes that are internal (soon to be 9 when I plant 2 more cities over the next 5 turns). I already have open borders with Commodore so I just need to de-fog a route to his lands; and since his scout made it to my borders I'm hoping my scout can reach his and defog the trade route at the same time.
I also have a work boat that just passed De La Fuente this turn and will be heading west into the fog, trying to find OT4E. I had a chariot out there, which I knew was a bit greedy because the scout was right behind him -- and well, I need a new chariot now:
The chariot was southwest of that plains hill, and ran into a barb axe. On defense, I only had a 30% chance to win, and we know I lose barbs battles when I only have a 30% chance to lose so... There's another barb axe headed towards the furs and Rubio, but I have an axe in the area to defend. Still, I would like to build another chariot here to pick off the invaders as they come into the flatland. I'll have to figure out where I'm going to build one...
I might have a chariot available sooner than I thought though:
I suddenly feel like I have no business settling Kasich. If 2metra had putten any real effort into expanding ... wow, I just have to wonder how much land I was "supposed to" get.

Remember kids, always make sure you're updating your own thread (and not the tech thread) when you write your reports! Especially when you're talking about declaring war on your neighbor!

Turn 111
City #13 is named after the "largest" candidate of the season
We have a pair of workers on the galley headed towards Stein, where we desperately need to mine one of those hills while waiting for the borders to pop. And you can see the settler that is going to found city #14 on top of the iron. I think this will be needed even without good worker support because ---
I'm sorry, did you say something Mr. Christie?
Well, I guess we're going to have New Jersey governor Chris Christie commentate on our turn. This should be interesting... Well since you're a governor and have a lot of experience with being ... ahem ... "diplomatic", then perhaps you can help us figure out how we should interpret some of these offers we received this turn.
First off, Old Harry wants to sell us a luxury for 9gpt. Any thoughts on that, Mr. Governor?
So more spices are good? I'm sorry, I think I have to disagree with you there. Besides, our cities aren't fat enough to need more ... snacks... It's true, a few cities are going to be whipped for horse archers but I think we can manage the unhappiness until we research the tech ourselves.
Next up, mackoti finally got around to a counter-offer for our Open Borders request:
Thoughts?
Yeah, I gotta agree with you on that one. Mack has to know that we don't have sight on his cities and so don't get ANYTHING from open borders with him, right? So why in the world would we just want to give him, the 1B to Old Harry's 1A, free commerce? (Btw, I noticed that OT4E did exactly that, and OT4E doesn't need any more trade routes fulfilled by as far as I can tell...) So we're saying no to this deal. Maybe I'll offer him back for 8-10gpt, but this needs to be mutual.
And finally, from 2metraninja:
Um, wait. So he canceled open borders? I guess he saw our scout.
We did get caught, didn't we? I accepted the open borders and I could have just sent by chariot back in ... but I figured we have seen enough to know exactly what we need to do for war, and there's no need to antagonize him further. So like the politician we are, we're just going to deny accountability and act like we never did anything wrong in the first place.
Also, I found out I'm going to need that chariot out west. Because my luck with barbarians still hasn't changed.
Didn't I just say last turn that I would lose a 30% barb battle? Guess I over-estimated my odds...
God I hate barbarians

So... how many cities does 2MN even have?

Only 7. I feel pretty good about our chances of knocking him out in the first strike, or at least crippling him enough that we don't get tied down in a grinding war.

Turn 112
2metra settled his 8th city.
TBS is putting all his EP into us again. Will need to keep an eye on the power graph, but I have a feeling that just seeing our upcoming spike should be enough to deter him.
People are teching Polytheism: 2 people have grabbed it over the last couple of turns. I have a feeling that someone is going to make a run at Literature soon. However, Aesthetics has still been teched by nobody.
To give an idea about just how far behind we are: our GNP is half that of the worst rival. Maybe everyone else is running wealth builds though?
Invasion Force Update
Current Units: 1 chariot
Completing this turn: 2 Barracks (Drumpf, Clinton - whipped), 2 horchers (Bush - whipped, O'Malley - whipped)
