The runes are fine apart from the crit chance (I think? AD on Kat is a thing, right? *draws a pocketbeetle-shaped summoning symbol*), and it's only, what, 3 crit marks? Not enough to make a difference to anything. Getting to 1700 MMR with a slightly sub-optimal rune setup is nothing too surprising.

In fact, it's probably about as likely as getting to 1700 MMR without ever buying a Void Staff on AP champs

Kat only has 2 AD ratios, on her W (aoe spinny thing, tiny scaling) and her R (decent scaling).
Overall, AD on Kat has always been trolly, even before rework, but now it's something you only do if you're stupidly far ahead and it basically just makes you an ult machine.

I don't hate that Kat's runes tbh, little bit of AD can help with last hitting early particularly at lower elos, and it's clearly a setup for early/level 6 aggression. If you look at that player's average KDA on Kat and also history of items, they're clearly an all-in extremely aggressive player.
There's two problems with this however, 1) Kat early game is horribly weak, and 2) particularly vs a champ like Malz it's just not going to work if he plays sensibly, which Voldy clearly did.
Hence the crashing and burning that happened in that game.

I think a relevant question for Voldy would be to ask why he's running 20/0/10 and not 21/0/9.
You're missing out on 3% overall increased damage, what's worth more than that in the utility tree?

Was spectacularly unimpressed when Riot first brought out their match history revamp - it looked like a poor man's knock off of lolking.
But they seem to have enabled other features and the heat maps are freaking awesome!
