Yes, that is indeed 2nd gold in the east. There's not that much food though so hard to find perfect city spots. Definitely not possible to grab both with same city. There's a potential spot with Pig + Deer + Gold + Copper which is pretty good but that requires Hunting + AH...

I'll most likely scout Tears of heaven with my scout (it'll give me ton of vision too if I remember correctly). Then probably check east or south east. Warrior should probably scout north or west. North shows some jungle so maybe not there... west on the other hand could reveal some potential city spots there.

Here's some plans for future cities.

#2 thoughts:
- I played a bit with sim and #2 can be settled perfectly T30 at the same time when I get WotE and RoK holy city will get to my 2nd city. Perfect timing I would say.
- This city has good food with Rice + FP (more of them likely in the fog).
- Is on a hill which is always a good thing. Holy city with extra defensive bonuses nod .
- This city will mostly focus on Food.
- Doesn't get Incense which is only thing I don't like about this spot. 
- If I want Incense I would need to settle on Ivory or 1W of #2. But both of those have some other issues. Incense can be used from #4 or later city.

#3 thoughts:
- This city can get Pig, Deer, Gold. Can also borrow Sheep from cap and Copper from 2nd city.
- Needs border pop which I can do with thane built from capital.
- Need AH which I'll finish researching the same turn this city is settled.
- Enough food with borrowed Sheep to become a decent production city.

#4 thoughts:
- This city could use seafood + Incense + couple Grassland farms and hills. Decent.
- This city is quite close and doesn't gain too much new land so depending on the new land I find in the next turns might make me settle this city later than planned right now.

Any thoughts on these spots or better suggestions?

#2 looks good where it is for a food/production city. Pushing it 1N would lose the Copper but gain 3(?) riverside grass/fp for cottaging as a commerce hub - synergises with Holy City if we plan to Shrine it.

If we're popping borders at #3 anyway, it could be pushed 1E if the tile E of the Dungeon looks useful - although not if #2 is pushed north off the Copper.

My immediate thought on #4 was to push it to the plains hill 1NW, but the tile bleed suggests coast beyond the desert so probably need to see if there are any marine resources there before setting anything too firmly.

(& yeah, those are the mod instructions I followed which is why I'm confused too)

Warrior scouting NW found some very good land. Wet Corn, etc., also hello Fire mana! Pushing #4 NW might be good idea actually.

Scout is heading back to Gold area, end of turn I spotted skeleton coming my way. It'll take a long time for it to reach my capital.

Capital as of now. Only 6 turns gone and already looking pretty good. Mud Golems are so fast.

Some other thoughts:
- Pusing #2 1N looks very good now because it gains 3 FP tiles as you expected.
- Pushing #3 1E could be useful, depening on the land in the fog. I guess I'll find out soon. But it also loses the ability use capital's Sheep. And also if #2 goes 1N this city should use Copper so probably sticking with original plan.
- City settled on Reagents or 1W of that tile is very good with border pop + BW. Next turn will show more of that area.

Land around the double gold and east from there is looking very promising too.

Also robbed another graveyard on the marked tile. No such luck this time but I'll take the gold instead of spectre/skeleton for sure.

In the east there's more juice... just look at this city place 1W of Reagents!

T8.

In the west I checked more of the Dungeon area. Next turn moving 2SE next to water probably and then head east. Another idea is to move back and stay on hills, even forested hills to give my poor scout some chance to live when animals attack. I don't remember when they start to spawn. Maybe around T10?

In the northeast my warrior found Goblin fort. There's only one unit currently so it won't move (for now). I'll be able to pass it safely and keep scouting close to coast.

The second Copper site in the East looks pretty fine too.

Good news is there's no seafood West of that isthmus, so we don't need to distort the dotmap to grab those desert/plains.

Looks like we found our first neighbour (or well, not a neigbour quite yet). To my eye that looks pretty grey, so it's Bing (Sidar). This is good news. At least it's not Hippus.

His capital seems to be 15 tiles away from mine so that eastern Copper site definitely is out of question.

Also, turn pace has been great. Sometimes we manage 2t/day even nod.

Can we make a push for the second Gold, or is that too far too? Not that we necessarily need to be aggressively pushing that way - esp. since if our NW neighbour is a similar distance away that puts the Pyre super-site at roughly our midpoint...

It’s possible. 2nd gold is 8 tiles away from my capital and 7 from his. The problem is that in order to be able to use the gold city needs some food (Rice) and that is 5 tiles away from his cap heh… a lot deoends on how he’ll settle etc.

I’ll definitely prioritize Pyre super-site anyway. It should be 5th city, maybe even 4th. You’re also right that the spot might be a midpoint with someone else. That area seems very much jungle and mountains that it’s hard to say. Shame they my warrior died. Would be useful to know if anyone is close me to there.
