Spotting the Mongols army approaching was sheer luck. The workboat that spotted them was only there because I couldn't think of anything else to do with it once I realized I needed yet another border pop in my ice-production city to get the second seafood. But once I saw it and tracked it a few turns, it wasn't tough to figure out why Genghis "had enough on his hands."
The worker grab was pure opportunistic cheese. The horse, the worker and the galley they were on got transported back to Delhi immediately upon signing the peace deal. I'd hoped to find some resource I could pillage, but really there's very little a single troop in the enemy core can hope to do.
