[SPOILERS] Caesar Amelia of Rome

Pretty much nothing going on with my civ at this time. Just slowly scouting and not-so-slowly building a settler. I'll post a pic after I settle the second city.

But a question! Would anyone be interested in a Fall From Heaven II PBEM game? I was going to post a query thread in the main forum, but then figured I might see if anyone reading this would show any interest first.

I myself, in FfH2, am horrible, but willing to play. Would we still host it at pbemtracker, or just state it over at civfanatics?

So finally researched Bronze Working and found my copper:

Not a bad location at all! I'm going to settle in place next turn, so I can hook up the copper quickly (will connect the horse first though). Alas my worker is roading the tile 1E of the copper, so he'll have to double back after pasturing the horse to build another road.

City 17 building another worker, who will mine a plains hill, then road to the corn, then mine the grass hill south of the corn, in preparation for settling city #3 (City 17 will go worker -> warrior -> Settler -> worker -> chariot, barring any unforeseen consequences).

Still haven't met anyone yet. I have a woody II warrior now, so hopefully I'll have a contact reasonably soon.

Oh and TT (I think it's him) seems to be stuck at size 2 (!) still- I wonder if someone is putting some military pressure on him? Still too early for him to be troubled by barb warriors, I think.

I think I've uncovered like a fourth of the map now and my woody II warrior still has yet to meet anyone.

I'd reckon that Sandover has a contact or two now, though smile - probably at least with TT, judging by whose threads are most active with lurker posts. I hope they're busy killing each other, but I'm sure that everyone will already have unofficial permanent alliances with everyone else by the time my pathetic tribe manages a contact.

Hey Bob - any updates?

Hey, thanks for checking in! I sort of forgot I had this thread, what with all the delays and non-action :P

Really very little happening with my civ, I still haven't met anyone despite having been scouting since turn 1, and I've decided that I'm not going to bother much with diplo in this game or even trying to make contact. I'll just see how well I can build a civ in my own strange corner of the world (answer: not that well). I don't seem to have anyone close to me in the east or NE, I'm going to start scouting the north of my civ now with a woody II unit, I haven't really uncleared much fog in that direction yet.

I'm going to start the oracle next turn, I'll post a screencap so you can have a good idea of my development plan. I suspect I'll loose this race rather handily, but again I won't mind the failure cash. I should be able to swing the wonder in 5 turns, maybe less... I haven't done any simulations, per my usual modus operandi of not caring :P

I keep forgetting about this game. Actually might get two turns in today if scooter can play before Sandover goes to bed at 7PM his time or whatever.

Obviously didn't get the oracle. In fact, didn't even get to waste a turn of production into it. I could have easily built the wonder many turns ago, but I seem to have already fallen into my habit of not thinking more than a couple turns in advance for any of my decisions, and succumbing to Civ Inertia... I've already killed my Adv. 45 game that way, and the only thing that keeps me from mucking up Pitboss 3 is SleepingMoogle.

Anyway, I'm moving back to my original plan of spamming settlers. Sadly, I'm pretty sure that I'm at least a city behind everyone else, despite being IMP. Or maybe not; I lost touch with the demographics for a while.

Also someone, I suspect TT, built the Great Wall. What a preposterously stupid build. Tons of wasted hammers for, what, defense against the couple barb warriors that a handful of chariots can handle from now until forever? The Great Spy that's worse than any other GP type thanks to our game rules? Surely not the lousy "more GG for battles in your territory" bonus?

At least I'm not the only person phoning it in, I guess smile

What th'! Screencaps?!

My "empire". Settler will head to the city location on the sugar, which will work that grass hill already in my cultural borders as soon as I get it mined.

City 17 will go worker next, then chariot, settler.

Axe next for Black Mesa, followed by a granary. Just built a chariot, who will uncover a little bit of the north while staying close enough for possible barb defense. I also already have another chariot out roaming now, looking for warriors to kill.

And here's some more land I've uncovered. Very nice production, but little food and few resources. Distressingly few happiness ones uncovered so far in particular.

Finally met someone:

Sandover... well, he topped my "civs I don't want to meet list", but now that I have metal hooked up and can spam spears as needed I don't really care anymore.
