How about a BTS team pitboss game?

I for one am not a suitable alternate. I simply do not have enough time to take this game up if someone were to drop out.

It looks like there is enough interest to get this going without me. If someone is looking for a dedicated lurker, I could do that instead. smile

I'm probably not going to play afterall.

History tells us that people need to be aware of several things before starting - the game will last six months or more, you will have a ~12 hour window to play, and pauses suck so you shouldn't be away from home too often. Considering the interest, I think partnering with another player is a good idea for the people with less time, but I'd strongly advise both partners to be willing to play the game on alone, AND to be dedicated to not abandoning the game. In the past we've had the opposite - teams of 4 had 3 people leave assuming the 4th guy could cover, and that guy had originally planned on having the smallest role wink

I'm happy to host the game as I've done before.

Sound good to me. Do you really think a 3v3 will take 6 months to play, though? I would think it would go a lot faster than a free for all, almost as fast as a 1v1 since there's no need for diplomacy.

I can commit to playing for the next 6 months. However, I am a little worried that because I live in Asia my schedule might be really different from everyone else's. Well, I can play at midnight if necessary.

I have a lot of single player experience (including some legit deity wins) but not a lot of multiplayer experience, which is why I'm looking forward to a team game. I think I'm good at economy building but not so good at war tactics.

I can commit.

I've only finished 10-15 full games of Civ ever. I am a mostly win on Emperor player.

I've never played multiplayer before, or even closely followed any multiplayer games.

Much like Luddite, I am pretty good at infrastructure builds, but don't focus much on war tactics.

Yes. I think we can and should do a 3v3.

We only need two threads, so lurkers only need to split two ways if they want to remain "dedicated" and be viable subs.

Luddite, I see no problem with being in a different time zone. Being in the same time zone doesn't even mean you want to play at the same time of day anyway.

Let's figure out who else is playing, then we can finalize the settings. I think the general gist of them is clear enough for people who only wish to play conditionally.

I am pretty much in the same position. Specifically, my multiplayer experience, as mentioned above, is 2 games with a similarly MP-inexperienced friend, a 3-player FFA which was actually kind of a 2v1 against me smile, and the initial turns of PBEM6.

I'm still interested and more than happy to have a team-mate that could potentially take an occasional turn every now and then.

Once again though, it would depend on settings.

I'm going to keep out of this game as a major turnplayer, I think I'd be better as a back up player if nothing more.

If you guys want, I can design the game with some pretty good 3v3 multiplayer settings, and make a map for you.

I think this would be great.

But first, let's make sure we have enough players.
