I'll repeat myself from the organization thread: Starts are similar, but not identical/mirrored. So don't kill yourself in the C&D there.

forced to wonder ... failed to tech compass yet? those directions you state for the Warrior makes no sense
IMO, given that both north, south and east appears to be coastal (and at least North and east is linked without a landbrigde between) i'd search NW-NW with Scout (Jungle hill) and proberly SE with the Warrior to get a good clue about the status of the coast there (if there is a land brigde of any kind there)
and then after that swinging the Scout westwards trying to find the westen coast which we know is nearby, and depending on the warrior (what it sees that is), scouting up or down that

Yes, it was supposed to be SE, not NE. Just a little confusion...

I have a pretty busy month coming and it will be difficult to find time to play this game, Sian. Is there a way for you to start playing the turns? I can probably handle another week or so (albeit I can be sure to send the saves in a good pace), but it'd be good to handle it to you.

just phoned and yelled at the computer company since they haven't given any infomation back, and they promised they return with prober info later today so ......
In the North ... given that we have similar starts, could that rice prehaps be another players? ... maybe we could take a quick stint W-NW (NW-NW afterwards prehaps even) with the Scout to be certain ... if, then it is someone settling coast/SIP (fierce only) somewhere to the west of it
If its another player ... then i'd wager a guess saying that we have 2 landbridges NW and SW blocked by a small strip of Jungle, with the posibility for 6-8 cities for each player (with equal sharing of the jungle) depending on how tight you want to build
I Believe we should expand in those directions first as possible

AH completed at the end of last turn, together with the worker. I'm following Kyan's micro plan, so I went warrior and mining next. The plan is to switch to a settler once size 2 is reached.
We have horses nearby in a pretty good city placement:
I followed the directions you gave me, Sian, and you were absolutely right! We found Fierce's capital!
We also found Yuris scout last turn and he moved closer to our capital after that.
Well, at least we don't have nospace as neighboors. But Byzantium is a pretty dangerous neighboor too. We'll need to think of a decent counter to the Cataphract threat.
On the other hand, having Fierce as a neighboor is probably a good thing.

all things considered i believe that Ottomans is one of the civs that handles Cataphract decently ... sure, Jani's are still at a net loss 1 on 1, but its in no way worse than anyone else
even then ... guess Engineering for Pikes would be a mid-game target
if allowed (that is ... not harashed by him) i'd might even suggest we let Fierce play his own game as long as he doesn't look in our direction (or he get attacked so we can pile), and focus on defending our southen border
after the early techs i'd might even go for IW and mass workers so we can carve as much of the jungle out as possible
...
City sites ... 1E of Horse? later seeing if we can nick 1N of Bananas? and 4w of horses looks like a hill as well
I don't think we know enough about the southwest yet to come with an educated guess at where cities would be best, althourth i'm liking 1NW of corn to the SE, and 1w of Incense
Scout i believe should go back hugging (as much as viable) the westen coast till its down next to our cap

Should I retreat the warrior to the capital? There's no immediate need to scout the jungle area (settling blocking cities in the jungle without worker/military support would be suicide), so maybe it's better to approach things carefully.

retreat back to the cap might be to defensive ...
My suggestion would be using Scout to scan the western coast down to the southern jungle, and the Warrior to scan the coast to the east for any seafood which could move the city sites
What city first? ... Horse/Rice/Clam? ... doesn't have so much Jungle that its painfull but still offensive enough to support a push into the northern Jungle later on (and as its Coastal we can use it for a workboat later on to check islands (the mountain to the north of the fish, and that thing east of Fierce which looks like an island)
