Marble don't appear in grassland (at least I never saw one in grassland) but they tend to apeear a lot in tundra, so you may have one no far away.
No problem - it was actually halfway through my post when I realized you probably just mixed them up. And yeah, if we really are stranded on some garbage island, the only thing that would help would be if we have marble in which case we'd practically be a lock for Oracle -> MC and hopefully moderate relevancy.
I'll make a sandbox either tonight or tomorrow sometime and do some mild testing.

I'm headed out for exactly that in a few minutes, sheesh.
In the meantime - I'm an idiot. So remember that time I said Vikings start with Mysticism and Hunting and wow that sucks with a seafood start and yadda yadda? And nobody corrected me? Well the Vikings definitely start with Hunting and FISHING. Yeah. I'd say I'm a noob for mixing that up, but apparently nobody else noticed either so I don't feel so bad.
So that makes our start slightly less horrifying. For whatever that's worth.

Oh yeah, just the two cheapest techs in the game... that's way better!

Not true! Hunting is more expensive now in RB mod (tied for most expensive) - it's actually a good tech now. Now, Fishing is 15b cheaper than Myst yeah, but the ability to make work boats from T0 makes it slightly better for us than Myst I'm thinking. And we definitely want to go WB first because a worker would have literally nothing to do so we'd just slowly grow and build a warrior.
You'll see, we'll make something of this start.

Optimism, I like it! Let's just hope the map RNG has been kind to us!

FYI - I've generated a few Big&Small maps now. I've done 10 civs, large, low sea level, normal continents (the one setting I'm guessing on) with islands mixed in. Bad news is usually 1-2 people do end up on an island. Good news is those islands aren't usually "tiny" and they're always within galley range of the main continent. More good news is I saw several people generate on peninsulas of the main continent that looked like ours... So it's not impossible that we're in that position.
It's also possible we're on Snaky continents (one of the 3 continents options for B&S) or something which would make our start position totally normal.
I'm attaching a sandbox I made. If anyone wants to try it out - extract and stick it in your my games/.../saves/worldbuilder folder and choose single player -> custom scenario and choose pb5 sandbox. I'm going to try to run a sim or two tomorrow and see what I can come up with. Lurkers are welcome to join in here. Seven said he's not revealing the full map, so that means lurkers are actually incapable of spoiling things by helping out with micro here, so if anyone wants to take the sandbox for a spin and report your findings you are welcome to. If you can come up with a start better than I can, I'll ensure that there is always a unit named after you for the entirety of the game. Now THAT'S an offer you cannot refuse.

Was reading Seven's post again regarding the map and noticed:
SevenSpirits Wrote:OK, map is ready. Do you guys have a host yet? Who do I send it to?
I did:
* Everyone has an early strategic resource (horse/copper/iron) but not necessarily more than one. This didn't require any editing.
* Everyone has a land tile that's 4f or better when improved with ancient era techs only. This required turning a single tile to grassland.
That's it. I rolled a map and painted one tile green. (OK, And I vetoed one map which didn't look that fun.)
We have 4f from water tiles improved but not land tiles. So... there must be a food resources on that tile in the fog!
Edit: Sigh, got too excited. Floodplains + farm = 4food. Nevermind.

Eh, you put a grassland forest 1SE of the clams this was on purpose or a mistake?
Maybe a give it a try later.

I didn't bother with that tile only because I wasn't 100% sure. The sandbox will need an update as soon as we move on T0. The real question we need to answer here is tech path. If we do NOT have any resources 2E, I think Mining->BW first is a duh for chopping. If there's something like corn 2E we'll do a little happy dance and detour for Agriculture.
I'm pretty convinced work boat first is best - I'm going to pop open that sandbox now and see what kind of results I get with it.
Warrior move is something to consider here. The way I see it - the plausible options are NE, E, or SE. NE would let us make sure there's nothing super exciting up north that we need to consider, but given what I'm seeing in this screenshot (it may be easier to see in-game), that seems unlikely. If we want to assume there's nothing up there, NE is unnecessary because simply settling the city will confirm everything. E or SE is just a judgment call - are we more interested in the east coast or south coast? Both will defog the two tiles in our BFC so that's not a real issue. As it is, I lean towards east for no real reason.
In terms of tech we could basically do Mining -> BW -> Myst -> Med -> Priesthood for the "Oracle ASAP" plan. That would require passing on techs like Wheel and Agriculture. That's actually not necessarily the end of the world, but it would always be cheap to insert them. I'd suggest just going ahead with Mining -> BW out of the gate (again, assuming no food pops up) and at that point we'll have enough scouting info to know how badly we need Oracle and how much expansion we're willing to sacrifice to get it.
