We have agri and hunting and finsih AH now. We have horses in our fat cross.
Trying to decide on pottery and maybe build a cottage, or mining/BW.
There is overlap between the 1st and 2nd screenshot - i don't remember how much.

ok - so that was a crazy day - I think we played 10 turns today!!
A few things:
There doesn't look to be any break in the peaks down south.
It's hard to see in my screen shots, and I forgot to turn on resources, but that hill in the desert - that's marble on a plains hill. And it's coastal.
My current thoughts are to settler the gem city (NE), then the gold - the gem city is better, i think - has more food and commerce. 3rd is the one to the south, with wine/sheep/deer. Presumably, one of those cities has copper.
then, start to move north. That might be tough, with scooter's war chariots around, but enough spears will stop a stack of war chariots.

All that desert, how disgusting.
It seems like pop points are worth a lot on this game, which makes sense given the large expanse of desert.

oh - I guess that coast is a lake. Apparently, I was hovering over the marble when I took that screenie and it's fresh water. Didn't even notice it till now!!
Think scooter will take the 50/50 shot? I'm thinking if I keep going N, I should get a position to get visibility into his cap.. which isn't useful in our relaxed game, but is fun anyway. Or I could just go west, i suppose.

I wouldn't take a 50-50 shot that could lose me my own exploring warrior.
I reckon just finding out where his cap is would be nice, even if you don't see the tile which has the capital. Helps to know where your enemies lie.

well, the starts aren't completely mirrored - sccoter has incense
with the horses, i decided to go mining/BW next, then pottery. Lots of awesome tiles.
Think I should go worker->settler or settler->worker? I'm thinking worker->settler. Though, if I do settle the gems site, i can work the oasis, which is a strong tile, so maybe settler->worker is best.

My hunch says Worker -> Settler. There's plenty of tiles that need improvements and while an Oasis is nice to work, wet Rice is better.

that's enough for me! finish up this warrior, then worker->settler!! Or maybe I'll go worker->settler->finish warrior. We'll see when I get the save next (this is, apparently, not a save every hour day, which is fine

ok - well, maybe I haven't sussed out the layout as much as I thought:
That's not looking that much like my land.
Check out the plains oases!!
