Now the info given on b.net about global play could be a bit more exact. Switching between the D3 server regions is like switching between the D2 b.net gateways: it has to be done in game "Options"->"Account" BEFORE logging in b.net. Once logged in switching does nothing.

Global play kinda "up's" your b.net2 account to a multiplexed game account, holding separate characters/stashes/hirelings/artisans per server region.

Yet the only bad thing seems that lag has increased with b.net2. For old b.net's USWest i got ping rates between 170 and 250 which is fine to play HC. On bnet2 ping rates seem to be at best close to 300 with my in-game latency meter happiliy changing colors between green and yellow and sometimes even showing me red. I hope it's just the starting weekend, otherwise HC seems very risky.

I'm having the same problem. There's a dev thread trying asking for people to post traceroute's to one of their servers, they think there might be a bug in the routeing (?). WoW uses bnet2, and doesn't have the problem for me, so I don't know what's going on.

Looooooong time, no see! It's DaveTheMage--but I couldn't get into my old account since it was tied to my old e-mail in Italy. I don't think I've played with you most of you guys and gals since the late 90s! Look like I checked back into this forum around 2004, but not since...man time flies!

Good to see some of the old names still around...KoP, Cy, Gris. Are Charis and Lemming still around? I'm trying to remember some of the other I used to dungeon crawl with...

I'm loading D3 back up...I've mainly been playing PoE, Hearthstone and World of Tanks lately.
