If HK and Mardoc don't get off their asses soon and start building/upgrading a real military very soon, they're going to be in a world of hurt if TBS or Jalapeno think they're becoming an economic threat (which the Stumpies definitely are).

Paper thin garrrisons don't cut it when Centaurs and Vampires and Moroi are on the board.

If TBS and Jalapeno are on the ball and realize that the Khazad are the next most likely to win after the pair of them....and cut a quick deal carving up Stumpiedom......

Prolly won't happen. But the Dwarves are VULNERABLE right now.

So, seriously, had Yellow indeed forgotten he has a word spell?

Seems like each of the big three thinks they can out build the others.

TBS thinks he can win the build race with towers. He's got a strong military, for the time being, and can focus 100% on victory, if he chooses to do so.

Jalapeno thinks he can win the build race with vampiric military. Having recently finished a solo game as the Calabim I've got to say I find it hard to argue with that. Though I'm not sure I understand the logic in rebuilding those razed cities...I think I'd be going 100% military and either overrunning the dwarves right now (no sense in having military just standing around) or seeking to finish off Yell0w (assuming he's forgotten about Sanctuary).

And HidingKneel thinks he can win the build race by laying low and, well, just building infrastructure until he can turn and build massive military. And maybe he can! He's certainly showing himself to have a masterful focus on efficiency, including diplomatic efficiency, and he's going to need every advantage he can get.

Yell0w seems totally out of it...I don't think he's even paying attention...and WarriorKnight doesn't seem like he's in a position to be a contender, unless the big three spend a heck of a lot of time dancing for position.

I'd still put my money on a Calabim win, though TBS could certainly pull a fast one and HidingKneel looks like he's going to make it long and bloody if he can keep the peace for another 10 or 15 turns....

Any lurkers see things differently? I'm learning a lot from each of the player's threads, and I'd love to hear what experienced lurkers have to say....

Also there are Sian's elves. smile

I'm feeling good about my map. I think it provided the players with quite a bit of options. Not entirely sure it's properly balanced, but at least it seems interesting.

Good point! I had totally forgotten about Sian. Having not seen many posts from him it's hard to say what his position is. He has definitely managed to avoid being considered by the other players as well...though I suspect that's because the elves are with WarriorKnight, viewed as a second-tier civ.

You know, this is a good example of a 6-player game that is moving along at a nice clip....

Not enough desert and ice, but you can't have it all. shakehead

What do you guys think about that giant spider with the air rod? Can barbarians pick up items? Or does the fact it has an air rod mean it absolutely must be a player?

In looking at Jalapeno's pic, it doesn't look like it's getting any bonus from the rod, so if it's a player, that player must not have any air mana.

Am I reading this right?

I'm pretty sure that Barbarians can pick up items.

Barbarians can capture and pick up items, but HN units (including many barbarians) cannot capture items.

For some reason Spiders aren't HN.
