Okcupid and online dating can be a big waste of time. That said I have had limited success on occasion. Limit time spent on online sites and more on hobbies that require seeing people face to face. For me learning swing, and salsa helped a lot as it introduced people that always wanted to dance and often hang out.

Good luck, be patient and try not have a carefree fire and forget attitude about the dating sites. If they reply great, but thousands will not and even those that do will lose interest quickly. Hit it off and meet with the bold. Those that are shy are wasting your time because they will only stop replying anyway.

Regardless go out into the world and have fun. The number one social rule is to have and promote fun. Show yourself and others a good time and all else can be excused-- at least for the moment
